Win Conditions
- In team fights, use your R on key targets that do not have QSS. Make them pay for not having this item.
- Avoid team fighting unless your R is available. Without your R, Skarner is rather weak and is limited when it comes to team fighting.
- Look to catch your opponent off guard in the early game and drag them under the turret with your Ult + E.
Weak Against
- Zac: Zac's abilities make it challenging for Skarner to escape or engage effectively, especially if Zac successfully initiates from fog of war.
- Rammus: Rammus's Powerball allows him to quickly close the gap between Skarner and his targets. Skarner's reliance on auto-attacks makes him vulnerable to Rammus's W.
- Wukong: Wukong can engage on Skarner with his Nimbus Strike, quickly burst him down, and use his Decoy to dodge Skarner's Crystal Slash or avoid getting suppressed by Skarner's Impale.
Strong Against
- Shyvana: Skarner's Crystal Slash provides consistent damage in duels, and his Impale can suppress Shyvana, preventing her from using her abilities and auto-attacks effectively.
- Sylas: Skarner's tankiness and crowd control can make it difficult for Sylas to engage or escape successfully.
- Master Yi: Skarner's Impale can suppress Master Yi, preventing him from using Alpha Strike and Meditate to reset and heal during fights.
Game Strategy
- Early Game: In the early game as Skarner, focus on clearing your jungle and securing Scuttle Crabs due to your Spire control. Look for opportunities to gank lanes with your Impale (R) to lock down and secure kills for your team.
- Mid Game: During the mid game, aim to control neutral objectives like Dragons and Rift Herald using your Crystal Spires to give you and your team a significant advantage. Continue to initiate fights with Impale and use your Fracture (E) for poke and zoning in team fights.
- Late Game: In the late game, your role is to be a strong frontliner and engage team fights with Impale. Use your Crystalline Exoskeleton (W) for increased durability and peel for your carries. Secure important objectives like Elder Dragon to close out the game. Prioritize vision control and map awareness to make well-informed decisions throughout the game.
