Win Conditions
- Dominate the lane by constantly poking the enemy with your W and Q. Look to get as many stacks on your warding quest as quickly as possible.
- Delay a team fight at all costs until you’ve poked the enemy down quite a bit. Once they’re low enough, then look to team fight.
- Your R is a channel and leaves you vunerable while its live. Use your R from a safe position to avoid dying.
Weak Against
- Taric: Taric's sustain, crowd control, and defensive abilities make it difficult for Vel'Koz to poke him down effectively. Taric can use his Q to heal himself and his ADC.
- Xerath: Xerath's long-range poke and ability to zone Vel'Koz with his abilities make it challenging for Vel'Koz to approach and land his skill shots.
- Yuumi: Yuumi's mobility and ability to attach to her ADC provide constant sustain and protection. Yuumi can shield her ADC with her E and attach to them when Vel'Koz tries to land his abilities.
Strong Against
- Braum: Vel'Koz's poke damage is difficult for Braum to block with his shield due to its multiple angles and long-range nature. Also, Vel's R does true damage, so it goes through Braum's shield.
- Lulu: Lulu's poke and harass are not as potent as Vel'Koz's, and Vel'Koz can outrange her effectively. Vel'Koz can poke Lulu and her ADC from a distance, making it difficult for Lulu.
- Pantheon: Vel'Koz's long-range poke allows him to harass Pantheon from a safe distance. Pantheon's short range puts him at a disadvantage, as he struggles to engage effectively without taking significant damage from Vel'Koz's poke.
Game Strategy
- Early Game: Vel'Koz should focus on poking enemies with his Q and applying passive stacks. Use E to peel for your ADC and disengage from unfavorable trades. Maintain bush control, poke enemies under their tower, and set up kills for your ADC by landing skill shots.
- Mid Game: During the mid game, Vel'Koz becomes a strong zone control and pick champion. Rotate with your team, using your Q to clear waves and poke enemies. Utilize your R to catch enemies out of position and secure picks.
- Late Game: In the late game, Vel'Koz excels at team fighting and peeling for his carries. Use your R to soften up enemies and zone them during team fights. Prioritize catching high-priority targets with your abilities, utilizing your Q and W to apply passive stacks and burst enemies down.
