Extradimensional Crisis is here, and we got a new immersive, Buzzwole EX. Buzzwole is an interesting card. With 140 HP, Buzzwole has 2 attacks, Punch deals 30 damage for 2 energy, while Big Beat deals 120 for 3. 120 damage for 3 energy on a Basic is ridiculous, so naturally there is a downside here. Once you fire off a Big Beat, Buzzwole will be unable to do so again the following turn. There are ways around this though, Celesteela can pivot him out for free, while fossils could be used to send him right back in after you retreat. But we ain’t doing none of that, due to the fact that Buzzwole has a 3 energy attack, today we’re bringing Leafeon back.
Today’s deck combines Buzzwole with Leafeon EX, who work wonders together thanks to forest breath. Powerful 3 energy attackers pair extremely well with Leafeon, as all we need is one energy invested onto them prior to threaten our opponents with a swing early. Leafeon not only ramps here, it also allows us to pivot our heavy hitters without losing momentum. We ramp onto Buzzwole and then Big Beat, send in Leafeon afterwards to Solar Beam, to then pivot out onto Buzzwole to Big Beat again, this duo represents an offense that becomes very difficult to defend. Buzzwole being a basic frees up a lot of deck space, allowing us to run an arsenal of powerful trainer cards benefiting from our grass typing.
Tapu Bulu is our fifth basic pokemon, the deck could function just fine without him, yet Bulu is essential to avoid us getting hard walled by Oricorio. Because we want to end up with Leafeon on the front as often as possible, a full set of Leaf is key to be able to correct our opener, while pokemon communication is extremely reliable for finding Leafeon early, as we run a total of 7 pokemon in the deck. While it’s true that we’re forsaking most Ultra Beast synergy here, we do run one copy of Beastite. For each point we’ve scored in a match, our attack will receive a +10 damage boost, allowing our Buzzwole to punch right through.
Buzzwole EX is indeed legit. Overwhelm your opponents with powerful hits, if they try to resist, tell em to beat it.
