With 130 HP, Triplet Headbutt makes you flip 3 coins, for each heads, Alolan Dugtrio will deal 60 damage. For 2 energy, our damage output ranges from nothing to 180 damage, though most of the time you’ll be dealing either 60 or 120. Meet the gamba version of Solgaleo. When I met this card, the first question that came to mind was why would I play this over the steel lion? Solgaleo has 50 more HP and will consistently deal 120. There are 2 reasons, beauty and deck space. Being a stage 1 evolution, running Alolan Dugtrio takes up 3 less deck slots providing you with room for more Supporters, all this fabulous pokemon asks in return is for you to believe in the heart of the coin.
Today’s deck is steel aggro, gambler edition. We combine Skarmory with Alolan Dugtrio to apply massive pressure from the get go, leading up to an end game with euphoric highs and devastating lows. By only running a total of 6 pokemon, we have enough space to run 4 tools to enable skarmory and still find room for a swiss knife of supporters. Giovanni enables Skarmory to one hit KO 60 HP basics, Sabrina and Cyrus hunt down the matchup we seek while Guzma deletes their tools and Mars denies their plays. We also play one copy of Adaman because I like being edgy. Honestly you can play something else and it’ll probably be better.
It turns out the price for beauty is consistency. Our attacks may miss, yet our deck reeks efficiency. Believe in the coin and Dugtrio will deliver brilliantly.
