They'll knock any- and everything off your shelves and out of your hands.

The main aim of this game is hand-locking. Sure, some cards might do it better (Alolan Raticate discards items like Rare Candies and Poké Balls, Gengar blocks Supporters from being used, etc), but why settle for just temporarily halting a play until your main 'mon when you can potentially disrupt all of them?

  • Glameow and Purugly are the stars here—the former has a pretty solid 40 damage attack for 1 energy, but it's a 50/50 shot; the latter, meanwhile, lets you shove your opponent's key pieces back into the deck... and you get to choose. It's also a decent informational tool for you, since every attack reveals the opponent's hand. It's literally a free Hand Scope every turn you get it off.
  • Delcatty is there for the obvious reason: ramp. This way, if you pull Skitty before Glameow, you can still get Purugly online as early as your third turn regardless.
  • Finally, Persian is your backup. Weaker and less bulky than Purugly, sure, but being able to 50/50 a random card out of your opponent's hand can still mess them up something fierce.

The support cards to go with it, besides the obvious are: Red Card and Mars which thins your opponent's hand and, when used in conjunction with Purugly, could effectively reduce their cards in hand down to effectively zero (if the opponent has two prize cards). Ilima is arguably a better Leaf, although either could be used interchangeably here. Finally, though not especially crucial, your team isn't particularly bulky, so a couple of heads flipped when playing Team Rocket Grunt could potentially disable your opponent's attack and retrat for at most a couple of turns, letting you limit their options even more confidently or even secure a kill somewhat uncontested. The deck isn't perfect, of course, and is mostly just theory-crafted; it could likely easily be tweaked around what you need most, like healing or better defense.
