Final comp

AD

Items on the composition module are among the ones which will work best on the champions, but of course you'll need to adapt with what you get.

Changes to come with patch 13.21

After ruling over patch 13.20, Multicasters finally get nerfed. The trait gets nerfed, and Twisted Fate, Sona and Vel'Koz get nerfed too. On top of that, The Blue Buff gives less starting mana, which won't matter after the first cast (though it will delay a little the first cast of Twisted Fate and Vel'Koz), but a nerf is a nerf.

But there is another comp that will get insane buffs instead. And since you're here, you've read the title so you already know which one. Yes, Strategist + Juggernaut. It was already a decent comp before 13.21, but a bit underperforming. It should be different now.

Miss Fortune will get less max mana and a stronger spell at all star levels, Nautilus will have more base resistances and will gain a whopping 40% bonus resistances from all sources (it was 35% before 13.21). Nasus will gain 5 armor and MR, which will go well with his beloved Bloodthirster and Sterak and the regeneration from Shurima. Pairing well with Swain, Silco will deal a bit more damage with his spell at star level 1 and 2, while needing 5 less max mana to cast, making the Shojin a perfect replacement for Blue Buff.

Now that you know why this comp will become strong with 13.21, let's see how to play it out.

Legend choice

S

  • Urf (Will provide emblems among Strategist, Juggernaut, Shurima, Bilgewater
  • Ezreal (More items are always welcome)
  • Bard (Similar to Ezreal)
  • Caitlyn (Starter Kit has a good chance of giving us one of the 4 cost units needed, and the other starting augments are good for a decent start)

A

  • Tahm Kench (Building up a nice economy will be helpful to roll down lvl 7)
  • Pengu (Saving up HP will give us more leeway to reach lvl 7 and roll down)
  • Lee Sin (He'll allow us to have a lot of gold when we reach 3-2 and 4-2)
  • Poro (Always good and flexible)
  • Ornn (Ornn items are nice, and there's a good chance they'll be useful, but you can get unlucky)
  • Master Yi (Will build up strength for our units and unleash them after 4-2 when we'll be rolling down)

B

  • Aurelion Sol (An alternative to get exp fast, but gold is better as it can be used to roll instead of levelling up)
  • Vladimir (Can build up strength for the units, but risky play style)
  • Veigar (Similar to Vladimir)
  • Twisted Fate (We shouldn't really need specific items)
  • Draven (Unless we have a strong start, Spoils of War will be a dead augment for a while)

Early comp (lvl 5)

This will be a nice starting comp, and should allow us to build up a nice win streak while drawing the blueprint of our final comp. Make sure to scout the lobby, as it might lose against strong boards.

If you don't hit Darius or Miss Fortune, you can switch them with Sett and Cassio.

Roll timing

With the legend that you chose, most of the time the turning point will be at stage 4-2. If you managed your economy well, you should be able to level up to lvl 7, which is the best timing to roll for 3 cost units, while keeping decent odds for 4 cost units.

We'll try to get Nautilus 2 and Miss Fortune 2 for now, as we'll need them to stabilize our board. Rolling down to 0 at this point is a bit too early, as not hitting them 3 will bury your game. Getting down to 20 should be fine if you're really unlucky. Of course, grab Nasus, Azir, J4 and Silco if they come your way.

If things start to go wrong, give the lobby some scouting to check how many Nautilus and Miss Fortune are already out of the pool. Remember, there are 18 of each, spread among all players. So if there are already like 9 or so out of the pool, including yours, it might be better to wait until one of their holders lose so their units go back to the pool. If you're among the lowest HP of the lobby, level up to 8 instead and bring in another Miss Fortune or another Nautilus, depending on what you have.

Lvl 8 and endgame

After hitting Nautilus 3 and Miss Fortune 3, our aim will be to get Nasus 2, Azir 2, Jarvan IV 2 and Silco 2. For that, levelling up to 8 will give us better odds. And if we're lucky, we can add Gangplank to the brawl, making for another frontline unit, and cleansing negative effects on our frontline after his ship hits our allies. He'll turn Bilgewater on, which won't be that impactful since we'll only have 3, but it'll still be a welcome boost of damage.

Instead, Heimer, Aatrox, Bel'Veth or K'sante will do the trick. We'll avoid Ahri, as Silco will do a better job especially if he's at star level 2 and we most likely won't have items to spare for her. The other four will be useful even without items.
