Vertical Anima Squad is a very easy comp to play but it is very strong if played correct. You want to play vertical Anima Squad when you have upgraded Units because the damage of the Anima Weapons scales with the star level of your Units. Anima +1, Quality Over Quantity, Support Spire, Item Augment to streak with or good Frontline Items are good spots to start with. You need to have a strong Stage 4 with upgraded Xayah and Leona because Anima Squad is likely to fall off at Stage5 if your not having good Augments which provide survivability like Bulky Buddies or Cyberbulk. The longer fights last, the more damage the Anima Squad Weapons do.

A good opener for Anima Squad means you have upgraded Anima Units but Seraphine and Sylas are weak 1 Cost Units. Illaoi is you earlygame Tank while Vayne Itemholds for Xayah. Seraphine or Yuumi can hold Shojin or Morellos for Xayah and Aurora well. Shyvana is your best in at Level 4 because she gives you Bastion and Techie. Jarvan + Sylas + Vayne + Illaoi is also a good Opener. You always want to rush 5 Anima on Level 6 with Shyvana. It is good in Stage 3. You rolldown on Level 8 at 4-1 or 4-2 depending on how rich or contested you are. You need to hit Leona2, and Xayah2. Leona needs real Tank Items no support Items. On Level 9 you put in either Renekton, Viego or Zac. You can also drop Jhin for a 2* 5 Cost with Items.

Having an Emblem makes this Comp at any time better since you get earlier to 5 Anima and you can drop 1 weak unit for a 5 Cost later. The best Emblem-Holders are Viego, Zac or Renekton. Aurora brings in Urgot, Kobuko or Zac. Urgot provides Gold or Items which helps to cap your board higher wile Kobuko or Zac with Blobs provide Tankyness.

In comparison to other comps you only need to Itemize Xayah and Leona to be strong in stage4 which means you dont rely on Item Augments as much as other Comps. The Anima Squad weapons are your second damagedealer those weapons benefit from armor- and magicpen. Xayah wants Infinity Edge and Last Whisper while her 3rd Item can be Shojin, Giant-Slayer, Strikers Flail or Deathblade. Leona her best Item is Warmogs with some Armor- or Magic Resistance Items depending on what your Lobby is playing. She gets Durability from beeing a Vanguard. She holds Evenshroud very well if you do not have Last-Whisper on Xayah. Evenshroud spreads better amorpen this benefits the anima weapons. Your 3rd damage dealer is Aurora. She is the best Morello- and Archangle-holder in set 14. Her 3rd Item can be Shojin or Rabadons which increases the attackspeed she gives the Unit coming from the bench.

Component Prio: BF, Crit, Belt, Tear, Rod.

Encounters -> Triple Gold Tier Encounter since many good Combat Augments for Anima are Gold Augments. Lucky shop will help you to upgrade your units early to have more anima weapon damage and get to Aurora faster.

Augments -> You want Combat augments which makes fights last longer. Greater Moonlight 2 on itemized Sylas is strong when you cant hit Leona. Quality over Quantity makes this Comp S-Tier especially when your able to fully itemize Xayah & Leona later while everyone else holds a Radiant item. You can take 1 Gold/XP Augment when Xayah & Leona are contested by Marksman players. With Little Buddies you drop Yuumi for Vayne.

In 14.5 Rageblade got changed it builds up every second instead of every attack which makes it a better managenerating Item on Xayah than old rageblade. Vayne can itemhold ragblade into Xayah. QoQ got nerfed with the removal of Static Shivv and Redemption.
