In patch 14.6, 6 Vanguard was buffed, making it one of the top meta reroll comps. It's relatively simple and the conditions to execute it are easy to understand, so it's recommended for beginners.
There are no 5-cost units in the late game, and only 1-cost units are used until the end. Because of this, Kog'Maw is the only unit carrying the comp, so the chances of securing 1st place are low. However, this comp can consistently reach TOP 4.
When to play
- At stage 2-1, if there are many Kog'Maws and Vanguard units, or if you have multiple Recurve Bows.
- When you get a champion roll-supporting Augment, such as Starry Night+ or Investment Strategy I.
Items
- Items for Kog'Maw:
- The two core items for Kog'Maw are Guinsoo's Rageblade and Kraken's Fury. You can also replace Kraken's Fury with Flickerblade.
- The third item will be one of the following items: Hextech Gunblade, Giant Slayer, Striker's Flail.
- To counter Zed, you need to have Hextech Gunblade.
- Items for Vi/Skarner:
- Vi's item will be Sterak's Gage.
- Unending Despair is a suitable choice for Vi and Skarner.
Slowroll
In stage 2, don't invest in XP and instead maximize your interest. At stage 3-1, reroll at level 4. Then, slow roll at level 5.
Goal: Upgrade 6 champions to 3-star — Vi, Kog'Maw, Sylas, Skarner, Kindred, and Rhaast. However, prioritize Vi and Kog'Maw. This comp is completed at level 8, so try to get as many 3-stars as possible.
At level 5, it's usually very difficult to get Skarner and Rhaast to 3-star. Therefore, you shouldn't overly commit to them and instead level up to 8 once you've 3-starred all the 1-cost units.
Augments
- Since you have 4 one-cost units in the comp, it works well with the Augment: One For All I.
- In addition, Vi has a shield that scales with her health. Moreover, Vanguard and durability-boosting effects synergize well, so the two Augments: Investment Strategy and NO SCOUT NO PIVOT are very effective.
