Since the Piltover rework the comp basically disappeared into oblivion, turning into a gamble of “can I stabilize with 1hp”, but because we are TFT players we are basically gambling addicts and the dopamine rush we have from those big cashouts is worth the risk.
Jokes aside, Jayce is a really strong champion and most times no one is contesting him, so we should hit him lvl 3 fairly easy. To maximize our chances of winning we aim to the sweet 30-40 cashout, normally, if you start losing early you should have 30 HP more or less.
When to play Piltover
We MUST have piltover after minions, that means:
- Having a Jayce/Ekko from loot
- A piltover +1 (Personally I don't really like this one)
If we have one of those, we can roll all our gold to get the Vi and Orianna.
EARLY GAME 2-1
We need this exactly positioning so we can have the weakest possible boar to start stacking T-Hex, having a level 2 Vi can help to lose as less HP as possible, but be careful, if other boards are too weak she can solo 2 or even 3 champions.
We won't be putting items until people have already one champion fully itemized or if other boards are too strong and we are losing too many HP.
MID GAME
LOSING HP (Don't panic)
As we lose rounds and level up we will add a Jinx and a Taric (must be level 1), if other boards are too strong we can put some items, Giant Slayer is the "less powerful" item at these levels, and we can put either a Gargoyle Stoneplate on Vi and then sell her when we put our Sejuani (remember to have another vi in your bench) or we can put a Evenshroud if we have too many items (Jinx itemization should be prioritized if that's the case).
This is the board we will use until we have enough T-Hex charges to do the cashout.
THE CASHOUT
At level 7 we want to star slowrolling to try to hit the level 2 Sejuani and the level 3 Jayce (Level 3 Jinx is a good bonus so buy it if she appears, but it's not a must). You won't be putting the Sejuani in the board until we want to cashout.
When we cross the 30 HP barrier, it's time to roll ALL our gold and reposition and place our strong units in the board.
Ideally we should have the level 3 Jayce and the level 2 Sejuani and should be enough to win a round, but for precaution we should try to cashout with 1 lose of margin.
If we have spare items, we want to itemize the jinx.
TIPS
- Serpentine River and Immortal Bastion are the best portals to play this comp. Starting with more HP and being able to heal HP makes life a lot easier and provides the opportunity to make bigger cashouts (NICE).
- Final Reserves is THE BEST augment we can have.
- If we happen to win a round don't panic, you can pivot to a Gunner comp (I will make a guide about that)
GOOD AUGMENTS
- FINAL RESERVES
- TINIEST TITAN
- Berserkers
- Blood Price
- Infernal Contract (Cashout should give us a Crown to hit 4 Gunners)
- Overwhelming Force
- Pandora's Items
- Shimmering Inventors
- All Natural
- Wellness Trust
