How to Play Mighty Mech — TFT Set 15: K.O. Coliseum

Most TFT sets have a vertical summon trait, and this one is no different! We have the Mighty Mech that is summoned by Aatrox, Lucian, Gangplank, Senna, Jarvan, Karma, and Yone. It is a up to 7 piece trait with a unique option of hitting a Prismatic unlock through achieving an objective.

Unlike previous sets where you could just get 10 of a trait to turn it prismatic, this Set offers something new – objectives in order to upgrade your 7 piece trait to the power of a 10 piece trait! These powerful prismatics will be similar in power level to previous 10 piece prismatic traits.

Explore all of the new Set 15 traits here!

How TFT Mighty Mech Works

Mighty Mech Trait Bonus

AD

Gain The Mighty Mech. Mighty Mechs heal it for 10% of the damage they deal.

Prismatic: Unlock the Mightiest Mech

Each Mighty Mech champion's star level increases The Mighty Mech's power.

  • (3) The Mighty Mech arrives
  • (5) Blade Protocol: Level 1
  • (7) Blade Protocol: Level 2

Mighty Mech Synergy

Mighty Mech champions that give opportunities to create trait webs:

  • Aatrox (1G) – Juggernaut & Heavyweight
  • Lucian (1G) – Sorcerer
  • Gangplank (2G) – Duelist
  • Senna (3G) – Executioner
  • Jarvan (4G) – Strategist
  • Karma (4G) – Sorcerer
  • Yone (5G) – Edgelord

The Mighty Mech Trait

Mighty Mechs like other vertical traits have a lot of ways to weave different traits in due to the number of potential overlaps it has. It is important to note that there is one overlap for sorcerers Lucian and Karma. Karma being a 4 cost champion, this is likely the champion that will be used as the carry in this trait. However, this trait will likley highly rely on the power of the Mighty Mech itself more than additional champion synergies.

Because Yone is a 5 cost Edgelord, for a high cap board playing around Edgelord Yone may be a possibility.

However, because star levels matter so much for increasing the Mech’s power, rerolling may be seen as the more common option for this comp with the highest capped compositions having reached Yone.

TFT Mighty Mech Champions

Aatrox (1G) – Juggernaut & Heavyweight

AD

Aatrox has multiple traits which makes him easy to play around especially in the early game. Juggernaut and Heavyweight both give some tanky bruiser damage. HIs ability: Blade Vigor heals (AP & Health) and deals (AD & AP) physical damage to the current target. Healing and damage are increased up to 1% based on Aatrox’s missing health.

Lucian (1G) – Sorcerer

AD

Lucian is unique in this set in that he isn’t a marksman with AD damage, but an AP sorcerer! I am excited to see this as it is fun to see him have a different role than what he typically has. His ability: Twin Cannon Fire allows him to fire 4 shots towards the target. Each deals (AP) magic damage to the first enemy hit. For each miss, restore 10 mana.

Gangplank (2G) – Duelist

AD

Gangplank has one of the best ability names of this set! Golden Giga Gun. This deals huge (AD) physical damage to the lowest health enemy within (range) hexes. If the target dies, 40 + 0 % AP change to gain 1 gold.

Gangplank is indeed a pirate and ready to farm some gold. This will make him a premium unit in the early game especially because he does target low health units. The only downside to this is he may use this damage into a champion with an already low amount of health, kill them, and not farm gold. Because he doesn’t have overkill damage he might pump damage into the wrong targets and cause you to lose fights in the early game. A potential downside to playing Gangplank early game even if he farms some gold.

Senna (3G) – Executioner

AD

Senna is an Executioner – returning to her spot as a 3 cost champion in Set 15. She has a Super Beam Cannon where she deals (AD & AP) physical damage in a line through the current target. Enemies after the first take secondary (AD) damage instead.

Ryze who is a 4 cost Strategist will likely be used as a synergy with Senna along with Jarvan.

**Jarvan (4G) – Strategist **

AD

Jarvan is a Strategist which is another front line option for the Mighty Mech composition. He also pairs up well with Ryze who is a 4 cost Strategist and Executioner who may end up being a duo carry with Karma at times in this comp to ensure that the comp has enough damage if the Mighty Mech doesn’t do enough itself.

Karma (4G) – Sorcerer

AD

Karma is a Sorcerer and being a 4 cost champion in a vertical summoning composition, she is likely to be the heavy lifter when it comes to carrying outside of reroll options. She has the ability Destruction Disc where she fires an energy disc that deals continuous damage in a 1-hex radius centered on the target. The disc vanishes after dealing (AP) total magic damage.

Yone (5G) – Edgelord

AD

Yone is the 5 cost of the Mighty Mechs with his ability Dual Blade Technique: Inner Reflection. This ability has a passive attack where he grants stacking attacking speed and movement speed and alternates between bonus true damage and (AP) magic damage.

His active sends an echo towards the two furthest enemies dealing (AD) physical damage and briefly knocking up enemies hit. This knock up ability is important as in the late game crowd control abilities are king as it keeps your opponent’s from making as many ability casts in the late game as theymight have otherwise. This makes Yone a core 5 cost unit for not only Mighty Mechs, but Edgelords as well!
