How to Play The Crew — TFT Set 15: K.O. Coliseum
Each Set tends to have a trait that heavily invests into rerolling or 3 starring your units. This set is no different with the introduction of The Crew as a trait. Where you will recruit members to your crew to give them additional bonuses as you 3 star them. Let’s take a look at how this trait functions and how the champions in it will help activate this trait.

The Crew Synergy
Here are the additional traits of the ‘The Crew’ champions that give the opportunity to create trait webs:
- Malphite (1G) – Protector
- Sivir (2G) – Sniper
- Shen (2G) – Bastion + Edgelord
- Ziggs (3G) – Strategist
- Twisted Fate (5G) – Rogue Captain
The “The Crew” Trait
The Crew is designed to be a reroll composition in Set 15. With low cost units Malphite, Sivir, and Shen who are meant to be rerolled making the primary traits to tie in this composition be: Protector, Sniper, and Bastion. Later, Ziggs can be thrown in with an additional Strategist for the bonus shield and damage amp. Finally, Twisted Fate, will be the icing on the cake making you fire the Planet Cracker.
TFT The Crew Champions
Malphite (1G) – Protector
Malphite is a Protector with an overall basic ability Regolith Resistance. His passive gives him 2%% more armor. The active he deals damage based off his armor and AP in physical damage to enemies in a cone. He will be rerolled in this composition as three starring him helps activate The Crew trait better and he can also be rerolled with the next champion below, SIvir.
Sivir (1G) – Sniper
At only one gold SIvir will likely be the primary rerolled champ of this comp with Malphite. On top of this, Gnar is a Sniper that scales well into late game boards, so I expect Sivir and Gnar to be rerolled together on top of Malphite. Sivir’s ability Star Cutter launches a returning blade 2-hexes through the current target. It deals (AD & AP) physical damage to enemies hit, reduced by 40% per hit.
Shen (2G) – Bastion + Edgelord
Shen is a Bastion with good tankiness. His ability is simple. Power Suit: Full Charge. He gets a shield (AP) for 4 seconds then his next 3 attacks deal bonus true damage. This shield helps his effective tankiness. On top of this, because he does some damage and has the Edglord bonus, reroll Shen might not be too bad although I wouldn’t expect him to be a primary carry without an augment that significantly helps him out.
Ziggs (3G) – Strategist
Ziggs’ Strategist tag makes it an easy splashable trait as the pay off is high for only two units. His abilit, Orbital Ordiance has the passive of attacks are bouncing bombs that deal (AP & AD) magic damage to the first enemy hit. The active is deal (AP) magic damage in a 1-hex radius centered on the target. At 3 gold he may be rerollable in some comps along with Shen being his front line. It will depend on which variation of the composition is strong in the meta if this is an option or if he is just thrown in as a synergy unit after completing lower cost reroll.
Twisted Fate (5G) – Rogue Captain
Twisted Fate is the captain of the crew with his ability 52 Card Calamity. The passive makes attacks bounce between 3 enemies, dealing (AP) bonus magic damage and marking the target. Attacks deal 30% reduced damage per hit. The active is dealing physical (AD) damage to 4 enemies and detonating their marks for (AP) magic damage each. This is a great way to round out your board especially because the low cost front liners you will likely be rerolling – Shen and Malphite.
The Crew Best Augments
- Escape Velocity: Gain 1 Velocity per reroll, and 6 when you level up. Crew units gain 1% Attack Speed for every 3 Velocity.
- Space Camp: Whenever you star-up a Crew champion, gain a random bonus 1 or 2 cost Crew champion. Gain a Malphite.
