Kamisato Ayato - The Flexible Hydro Elegance
Ayato is one of the most flexible hydro characters that can be used in many teams such as Bloom/Hyperbloom, Mono-Hydro, Freeze, Tazer you name it. What makes him better is that he's very comfy to play, all you need to do is use skill and just simply slash your enemies as long as your attacks connects them
Weapon Tier List for Ayato

Artifact Set for Ayato

Definitely an obvious one to go for because you'll most likely be doing weekly boss. Very simple artfact to have and it can be strongbox
Main and Sub Stats for Ayato
Stats needed for Ayato are Crit Rate and Crit Damage(basically every main dps needs crit), Attack Percentage and Hydro Damage Bonus.
For the Crit ratio, aim for 70% Crit Rate and for Crit Damage, go for 180 or as high as you can. Like I said before, do not stress yourself over crit damage stats. Crit ratio will also be dependent on the weapon you have on Ayato.
For the Goblet piece, Hydro DMG Bonus is a must for obvious reasons otherwise Attack Percentage works fine.
Talent Level Priority for Ayato
You should crown both his skill and burst since you'll be using those talents a lot. No need to level his normal attacks at all since it doesn't benefit from elemental skill and it saves you some resources for other characters.
Characters that supports Ayato
Yelan and/or Xingqiu
Yelan has really good burst that will always apply more hyrdo damage as long as you keep maintaining Ayato's skill and keep on using normal attacks. If you don't have Yelan, Xingqiu's your another option. Although his burst relies on defense, it does apply hydro damage from normal attacks like Yelan but the only downside is that his Raincutter can potentially be missed if the enemy teleports so keep that in mind. If you want to mono hydro you could do both Yelan and Xingqiu but you might need a healer either Kokomi or Jean to work.
Furina
I know you've heard this character so many times over but let me explain. Unlike Yelan and Xingqiu that just applies hydro application, Furina gives buffs as well so as long as you have a good healer, you should be golden. If you don't want Furina or if you're putting her in another team then that's completely fine, like genuinely lol.
Kaedehara Kazuha
Another obvious one although if you don't have Kazuha then Sucrose is the alternative. Really great for VV shred to decrease elemental resistance and deal more damage.
Electro support character
I'm not gonna list them all here because I don't want to stress myself so I'll go for rapid fire on this section. Kuki is great for hyperbloom, Fischl at C6 works for tazer/bloom and Beidou for damage reduction.
Dendro support character
Nahida being the obvious choice for bloom/hyperbloom and it applies dendro really easily. If you don't like Nahida then Dendro Traveler or Baizhu works too.
There are other characters that works well with Ayato but I won't be covering them since I don't want to go in too depth just for me to stress out lol.
Team Compositions for Ayato

Note that the team comps that I showed here are examples only. Feel free to check out other teams on what they cleared in the abyss that I did not mention because there are too many characters to cover
Constellations or Weapon for Ayato?
Constellations is not needed for the most part because he works fine at C0 if you have a good weapon or you wanted his signature weapon for the drip but otherwise if you need cons then C1, C3 and C6 will be dependent if you want to highly invest.
Constellations for Ayato
I'll give a quick summary on what constellations they do for Ayato
C1 - Shunsuiken Damage increase if enemies HP is below 50%
C2 - Namisen stack increase, max HP increase if it has 3 stacks
C3 - Skill Level increase
C4 - Attack SPD increase after burst
C5 - Burst Level incrase
C6 - After skill actiavtion, creating 2 extra Shunsuiken strikes dealing more damage.
Conclusion + Personal thoughts about Ayato
I really like Ayato's personality, the elegance and his trailer alongside his theme music (Serene and Fathomless) is chef's kiss. I kinda regret not getting him too after Raiden (both Raiden and Ayato are on the same banner) and I'm so glad that I got him now. I'm actually tired of people (meta slaves even) who declares that Neuvillette is better than Ayato like yeah I get it he's the supposedly be the Hydro Archon but that won't stop me from benching Ayato and I never plan to at all. I've said this before and I'll say it again, I always prefer Waifu/favorites over meta and I will be pulling for whoever the fudge I want and that's final because at the end of the day, it's all about having fun with the game.
