Video Guide:
Introduction:
Kinich, a 5-star Dendro Claymore character in Genshin Impact, serves as a main D.P.S. on the field. He inflicts damage using his Elemental Skill, which not only puts him in a unique state but also equips him with a grappling hook for enhanced mobility around enemies. He will be released in the second half of Genshin Impact Patch 5.0. Kinich gains critical damage as he levels, giving him a total of 38.4% critical damage at level 90, so critical rate should be prioritized.
Base Stats:
Kinich’s base H.P. is twelve thousand eight hundred fifty-eight, base attack is three hundred thirty-two, and base defense is eight hundred two.
Normal Attack - Nightsun Style:
Kinich’s Normal Attack, Nightsun Style, is not too relevant and is similar to most other Claymore characters.
Elemental Skill - Canopy Hunter - Riding High:
Kinich’s Elemental Skill, Canopy Hunter: Riding High, is decent for exploration as it can be used to grapple forward. In combat, Kinich grapples an enemy and spins around the enemy, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Dendro damage by firing loop shoots, and ends with a big cannon shot that deals a tremendous amount of damage. Kinich's Nightsoul's Blessing lasts 10 seconds and generates 2 Nightsoul points every second. Kinich can gain 3 Nightsoul points by spinning around and dealing damage to an enemy. At maximum Nightsoul points, Kinich can use the Elemental Skill Scalespiker Cannon. After the cannon is fired, he will try to grapple towards the enemy; a blind spot will be generated next to the opponent. If Kinich enters the blind spot, he will gain 4 Nightsoul points. The elemental skill is restricted to a single target and is bad for A.O.E. situations.
Passive 1 - The Price of Desolation:
Kinich’s Passive 1, The Price of Desolation, is related to his Elemental Skill, Canopy Hunter: Riding High. If the enemy you are attacking gets his by burning or burgeon damage, then Kinich gains 7 Nightsoul points once every 0.8 seconds. The fastest way to get Nightsoul points is by using Kinich in a team that can trigger burning or burgeon damage. You will be able to use your Scalespiker Cannon after just 3 loop shots and will reach around 4 Scalespiker Cannons per rotation. On teams with Burning or Burgeon damage, expect around 3 Scalespiker Cannons per rotation.
Elemental Burst - Hail to the Almighty Dragonlord:
Kinich’s Elemental Burst, Hail to the Almighty Dragonlord, has an energy cost of 70 and a cooldown of 18 seconds with a duration of 15 seconds. The elemental burst deals A.O.E. dendro damage, but its damage amount is lower than Kinich’s elemental skill. Kinich’s Elemental Burst deals around 6 hits of damage but still does less damage overall compared to only one of his Scalespiker Cannon, so it is not the greatest. Relatively, his elemental burst does not deal a large portion of his damage. Kinich’s elemental burst animation is long, so you do not really want to use it every rotation. Therefore, you do not need to prioritize high energy recharge stats.
Passive 2 - Flame Spirit Pact:
Kinich’s Passive 2, Flame Spirit Pact, allows him to increase damage dealt by Scalespiker Cannon by 320% of Kinich’s attack per rotation. This means that relatively most of his damage comes from his elemental skill.
Passive 3 and Passive 4:
Kinich’s passive 3 Night Realm's Gift: Repaid in Full and passive 4 Swift Envoy are purely exploration-focused and not relevant to combat.
Best Weapons:
Kinich’s best weapon is obviously his 5-star signature claymore, Mountain King’s Fang; it grants stacks whenever Burning or Burgeon occurs to increase Elemental Skill and Burst damage. It has a base attack of 740.58 and 11.03% critical rate at level 90.
Best Artifacts:
Kinich’s best artifact set is Obsidian Codex.
Scaling:
Kinich sets himself apart from many Dendro characters by scaling with attack and prioritizing elemental damage, crit, and attack percentage in his build.
Energy Recharge Requirements:
If you are running Kinich as a solo Dendro character, his energy recharge requirements are around 200 percent. If you are running Kinich with a second Dendro character such as Emilie, his energy recharge requirements are around 140 percent.
Main Stats:
The best main stat for the Sands piece is attack percent. The best main stat for the Goblet piece is Dendro Damage. The best main stat for the circlet piece is either critical rate or critical damage.
Sub stats:
Kinich’s substat priority is Critical Rate and Critical Damage up to a Crit Ratio of One to Two, then attack percent.
Talent Level Priority:
Kinich’s talent level priority is Elemental Skill, then Elemental Burst, and lastly Normal Attack.
Kinich’s Best Teammates:
Kinich greatly benefits from having Bennett on many of his teams, thanks to the substantial attack boost, healing, and the added advantage of Bennett being a Pyro character. Xiangling and Emilie also rank among his top supports. Xiangling continues to be a formidable force, while Emilie enhances team performance by applying Dendro, delivering high damage, reducing energy recharge needs, and offering damage reduction against burning.
Kinich’s Best Teams:
You would want to use Deepwood Memories on Xiangling.
Dehya can replace Xiangling if you use Sacrificial Greatsword to shorten your rotation time to less than a Xiangling team.
Dehya can also be replaced with Thoma, Kachina, Chiori, or Albedo.
Dehya can also be replaced with Thoma, Kachina, Chiori, or Albedo.
Dehya can also be replaced with Thoma, Kachina, Chiori, or Albedo.
Dehya can also be replaced with Thoma, Kachina, Chiori, or Albedo.
Xiangling can also be replaced with Fischl for an overload team.
Constellation Stopping Point:
Kinich’s Constellation One, Parrot's Beak, increases his movement speed by 30% for 6 seconds after landing from his elemental skill. Also, Scalespiker Cannon's critical damage is increased by 100%. This increase in critical damage is very impactful to Kinich’s overall damage.
Kinich’s Constellation Two, Tiger Beetle's Palm, decreases Dendro resistance by 30% for 6 seconds when his elemental skill hits an enemy. Also, the first scalespiker Cannon Kinich fires after entering Nightsoul's Blessing has increased A.O.E., and its damage increases by 100%. This means that his elemental skill is no longer purely single target focused but can deal damage to more enemies. A damage increase from constellation two and a critical damage increase from constellation two make it so that Scalespiker Cannon deals a ton more damage than at constellation zero. Therefore, the best stopping point is at constellation two for you whales.
