Dehya's Team Role...

Dehya is a flexible unit and can be used as:

  • A burgeon support
  • A burning support
  • A damage sponge
  • An on-field DPS
  • A quickswap DPS
  • A reaction support

Dehya's Talents and What to Prioritize!

  • Normal Attack: The normal attack is a four hit combo, the charged attack is flurry of slashes and the plunge attack doesn't do anything special.

  • Elemental Skill: Dehya summons a totem on the ground that deals damage and has a fixed area. Dehya can use the totem again to deal damage a second and will relocate the field to Dehya's current position. The second totem cast will keep the duration of the first. When an enemy within the field of the totem is hit by anyone or thing from your own team, the totem will launch a coordinated pyro attack scaling off of Dehya's ATK and Max HP. This coordinated attack has the same cooldown as internal reactions, 2.5 seconds. Team members within the field have increased resistance to interuption and when the characters take damage, a portion of that damage will be allocated to Redmane's Blood. Redmane's Blood will only take a certain amount of damage before it stops taking any damage.

  • Elemental Burst: Dehya's burst is one long, drawn out, chunk of damage. She will increase her resistance to interruption and lock herself in an animation where she will punch enemies multiple times, dealing AOE pyro damage, before finally ending the animation in a big kick that deals pyro damage in an AOE. This damage scales off of her ATK and Max HP. Should a totem created by Dehya be on the field, the burst will remove the totem and relocate it to her current position when Dehya's burst ends; the totem will use the duration of the totem used before her burst. During the prolonged animation, Dehya cannot cast anything else and her skill and attacks will instead increase the speed at which her next attack hits. Dehya can also cancel this animation by jumping should she need to.

  • Passive: Increases party movement speed during the daytime.

  • Passive 2: When Dehya recasts her skill after placing a totem or retrieves a totem when casting her burst, she will take reduced damage from Redmane's Blood.

  • Passive 3: When Dehya's HP falls below 40% she will heal herself for 20% of her max HP over 10 seconds with a cooldown of 20 seconds.

Important Notes about Dehya's Kit

Redmane's blood is a way that Dehya stores damage that her team takes and then recieves the damage herself. This happens over a period of time and doesn't prevent her from healing.

Noteably, Dehya's burst does not count as a Normal Attack and therefore cannot work with units like Beidou, Yelan, or Xingqiu. However, when affected by Cryo (for example, attacks from a cryo abyss mage) her bursts attacks can still be slowed down.

Her totems coordinated attacks account for all types of damage, including DOT like the burning reaction. This means that burning enemies will always have pyro applied to them and should you want a burning team, all you need is a good dendro applicator.

Dehya's increased movement speed assists with overworld exploration, simple enough.

The jump cancel may seem unimportant at first but you can find out rather quickly that should you be faced with an enemy that Dehya cannot get to, you will need to cancel the animation. You may also need the animation cancel should the enemy launch a very powerful attack, like Raiden's sword.

During Dehya's burst animation, she can still dodge. Use this to avoid incoming attacks or get closer to an enemy that strayed too far from you.

To increase the total amount of pyro application and damage that Dehya's burst does, you will need to** repeatedly spam** either her skill button or normal attack during the animation.

Talent Prioritization

Depending on how you are going to use your shiny new Dehya will change how you prioritize her talents.

  • Burgeon: Dehya's talents as a burgeon support do not NEED to be leveled, but if you are to level anything I would recommend leveling her elemental skill to simply increase the damage she outputs.

  • Burning: Similar to burgeon, Dehya doesn't need any talent prioritization however, to maximize damage I recommend leveling her elemental skill.

  • Reactions: Again, as a reaction support she won't need any levels but for damages sake, you can level the elemental skill.

  • Tank: Prioritize the elemental skill as you will absolutely be building HP on tank Dehya and the elemental skill can give some added damage.

  • Quickswap/Off-field DPS: Prioritize elemental skill and burst. Less priority in burst as you won't be using it incredibly often on a quickswap build.

  • On-field DPS: Prioritize Dehya's burst and ensure you level her elemental skill as well. When Dehya's stop punching your field will be your only source of decent damage.

*Note, for the majority of the time you will be largely ignoring her Normal Attack. Unless you want to build her physical, I won't stop you!

Leveling Dehya?

Dehya does partially scale off of HP, though poorly. If you want to level Dehya it is because you want to maximize her healthpool and no other reason. You might do this for the tank build. If you play her off field or reactions, ensure you have either a team-wide healer or a shielder for your team if you are anxious about Dehya's healthpool falling too low.

Dehya has a decent amount of options for weapons. To note: should a weapon have a certain interaction with Dehya I will note it down!

  • Beacon of the Reed Sea - Dehya's signature is of course going to be one of her best weapons. However, if you are running this weapon, I would recommend not running a shielder on the team as it will inhibit the weapons passive. This weapon should mainly be used for off or on-field DPS Dehya.

  • Skyward Pride - A good weapon for On-Field DPS as it gives energy recharge for her burst, a small amount of crowd control, and increases all damage.

  • Wolf's Gravestone - Gravestone is a decent weapon for Dehya as it supports both her on-field and off-field DPS playstyles. However, to make full use of the passive enemies need to be below 30% HP.

  • Akuoumaru - Akuomaru is good for Dehya's on-field DPS playstyle as it increases her attack and when used on a team with lots of energy recharge, can increase her burst damage greatly.

  • Favonius Greatsword - Favonius is a good option if you are struggling to supply Dehya's burst as an on-field DPS.

  • Katsuragikiri Nagamasa - This weapon is better for Dehya's off-field/quickswap playstyle as it increases her totems coordinated attack damage and her totem summoning damage while supplementing her bursts energy needs.

  • Luxurious Sea-Lord - Should you be lucky enough to have this weapon, it is a solid option to supplement Dehya's on-field burst damage if you don't have better options.

  • Mailed Flower - This weapon is good for her reaction playstyles. It gives elemental mastery to increase her reaction damage and gives her both an ATK and EM boost when she triggers a reaction which is a good damage boost for her.

  • Makhaira Aquamarine - The EM substat supplements Dehya's reaction playstyle and gives both her and her team an attack boost.

  • Rainslasher - Rainslasher boosts Dehya's EM playstyle and is best used with Vaporize or Overload teams.

  • Royal Greatsword - This weapon is good for off or on-field DPS Dehya when you are struggling with crit rate.

  • Sacrificial Greatsword - Sacrificial Greatsword is a very overlooked weapon as it can reset Dehya's skill cooldown after she uses. This weapon is best for reaction teams that rely on Dehya, off-field DPS, or Tank Dehya builds. Dehya's skill can (and should) be used twice and so gives her two opportunities to reset the cooldown. You might think it doesn't affect Dehya because it will just reset the cooldown of her second cast but in fact, the cooldown reset affects her skills cooldown after the totems have dissapeared meaning it will shorten the cooldown regardless. To note: Dehya's second constellation is a huge buff to her elemental skill cooldown and lowers it to basically zero meaning the weapon no longer serves a purpose.

  • Talking Stick - This weapon while situational, can still be useful. If you have teammembers to apply elements to Dehya the passive can increase her on-field or off-field damage.

  • Tidal Shadow - I would only recommend this weapon for off-field Dehya if you don't have a shielder on your team. Otherwise, there are better options.

  • Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword - This weapon has a massive ATK bonus for Dehya if you are willing to put time into exploration. The weapon can be used for both off-field and on-field as the weapon also gives energy recharge.

What Artifacts Can She Use?!

  • Crimson Witch of Flames - Dehya can only use her skill twice in quick succession so you will never gain the maximum effect this set has to offer. However it can still be a sizeable boost to her reaction teams or DPS builds.

  • Emblem of Severed Fate - Emblem is best for on-field DPS Dehya as it gives her energy recharge to easy your artifact stats and boosts her damage based on her ER.

  • Flower of Paradise Lost - This set is best for burgeon Dehya.

  • Gilded Dreams - Gilded Dreams is a wonderful set for reaction Dehya. It is best when she is the only pyro unit on the team, unless you want to also give her a little ATK.

  • Golden Troupe - This is the set or off-field Dehya, 'nough said.

  • Lavawalker - I don't really recommend this set for anything other than off-field Dehya. You might use this set if you are running Dehya in a mono-pyro team and can't manage to get a Golden Troupe set. Other than that, there isn't much reason to use it.

  • Noblesse Oblige - 2pc Noblesse could be potentially useful for on-field Dehya. 4pc Could allow Tank Dehya to boost your teams damage and quickly cancel the ultimate, but it is quite niche.

  • Tenacity of the Millelith - Tenacity is great for Tank Dehya as it can give her more HP to soak up damage for her team and boost her team's DPS. It can even still be useful if you're team is running a shielder due to its passive to increase shield strength. I do want to highlight however, if you are runnning a shielder and are also running Dehya's signature weapon, it is ill advised to do so because Dehya's signiture weapon doens't like shields.

  • Unfinished Reverie - Reverie is best used for Burning Dehya. Though it may not be the best option, it is still potent if it is all you can manage.

  • Vermillion Hereafter - Good for on-field DPS Dehya. You have to avoid using shields with this set though, especially if using her signature weapon.

  • Vourukasha's Glow - This set is good for off-field and on-field Dehya as it increases her skill and burst damage. However, you need to make sure that Dehya takes damage so shielders aren't an option if you want to make full use of this set. It's a great set for her overall.

What Artifact Stats Should I be Looking For?

Stats depend on Dehya's playstyle:

  • Burgeon: Run EM on everything. If you are worried about Dehya's secondary damage or her healthpool, get ATK or HP percent respectively.

  • Burning: Run EM on everything, again. Same rules as last bulletpoint.

-** Reactions**: Again, EM on everything. Same ruels as previous.

  • Tank: HP on everything you can get. More HP in her substats as well. If you also care about her damage, bring ATK substats or aim for good crit ratios.

  • Quickswap/Off-field DPS: ATK sands, Pyro DMG Bonus goblet, and preferably a Crit circlet. If you cannot manage a good Crit circlet go with ATK temporarily. Aim to get more ATK in your substats and good Crit ratios.

  • On-field DPS: ATK or ER sand depending on the stats (and weapon) you have, Pyro DMG Bonus goblet, and Crit circlet. Get more ATK and ER in the substats as well as Crit.

Constellations!

  • C1 - Increase Dehya's Max HP by 20% and increase the damage her skill does by 3.6% of her Max HP and the damage of her burst by 6% of her Max HP.

  • C2 - The duration of totems created from Dehya's elemental skill are increased by 4 seconds (effectively giving her near constant uptime) and when a team memeber inside the field is attacked it will increase the damage of the next totem coordinated attack by 50%.

  • C3 - Increases Burst level by 3.

  • C4 - When Dehya's burst attack hit opponents they will restore 1.5 energy for Dehya and heal her for 2.5% of her Max HP.

  • C5 - Increases elemental skill level by 3.

  • C6 - Crit Rate of elemental burst is increased by 10%. When the burst attacks crit, crit damage of the burst will be increased by 15% for the rest of the duration and the duration of the burst is extended by 0.5 seconds for a maximum of 2 seconds. Crit DMG can only be increased up to 60%.

A Closing Statement...

Dehya is a versatile character. While she may not be the most efficient I feel that she can be worthwhile if people gave her the light of day. Her kit may feel a tad bit janky and she may feel inefficient without constellation I feel that being a jack of all trades gives her a reason to be used. After all, a jack of all trades may be a master of none but its better than being a master of one. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy your shiny new Dehya!
