Dehya's Team Role...
Dehya is a flexible unit and can be used as:
- A burgeon support
- A burning support
- A damage sponge
- An on-field DPS
- A quickswap DPS
- A reaction support
Dehya's Talents and What to Prioritize!
-
Normal Attack: The normal attack is a four hit combo, the charged attack is flurry of slashes and the plunge attack doesn't do anything special.
-
Elemental Skill: Dehya summons a totem on the ground that deals damage and has a fixed area. Dehya can use the totem again to deal damage a second and will relocate the field to Dehya's current position. The second totem cast will keep the duration of the first. When an enemy within the field of the totem is hit by anyone or thing from your own team, the totem will launch a coordinated pyro attack scaling off of Dehya's ATK and Max HP. This coordinated attack has the same cooldown as internal reactions, 2.5 seconds. Team members within the field have increased resistance to interuption and when the characters take damage, a portion of that damage will be allocated to Redmane's Blood. Redmane's Blood will only take a certain amount of damage before it stops taking any damage.
-
Elemental Burst: Dehya's burst is one long, drawn out, chunk of damage. She will increase her resistance to interruption and lock herself in an animation where she will punch enemies multiple times, dealing AOE pyro damage, before finally ending the animation in a big kick that deals pyro damage in an AOE. This damage scales off of her ATK and Max HP. Should a totem created by Dehya be on the field, the burst will remove the totem and relocate it to her current position when Dehya's burst ends; the totem will use the duration of the totem used before her burst. During the prolonged animation, Dehya cannot cast anything else and her skill and attacks will instead increase the speed at which her next attack hits. Dehya can also cancel this animation by jumping should she need to.
-
Passive: Increases party movement speed during the daytime.
-
Passive 2: When Dehya recasts her skill after placing a totem or retrieves a totem when casting her burst, she will take reduced damage from Redmane's Blood.
-
Passive 3: When Dehya's HP falls below 40% she will heal herself for 20% of her max HP over 10 seconds with a cooldown of 20 seconds.
Important Notes about Dehya's Kit
Redmane's blood is a way that Dehya stores damage that her team takes and then recieves the damage herself. This happens over a period of time and doesn't prevent her from healing.
Noteably, Dehya's burst does not count as a Normal Attack and therefore cannot work with units like Beidou, Yelan, or Xingqiu. However, when affected by Cryo (for example, attacks from a cryo abyss mage) her bursts attacks can still be slowed down.
Her totems coordinated attacks account for all types of damage, including DOT like the burning reaction. This means that burning enemies will always have pyro applied to them and should you want a burning team, all you need is a good dendro applicator.
Dehya's increased movement speed assists with overworld exploration, simple enough.
The jump cancel may seem unimportant at first but you can find out rather quickly that should you be faced with an enemy that Dehya cannot get to, you will need to cancel the animation. You may also need the animation cancel should the enemy launch a very powerful attack, like Raiden's sword.
During Dehya's burst animation, she can still dodge. Use this to avoid incoming attacks or get closer to an enemy that strayed too far from you.
To increase the total amount of pyro application and damage that Dehya's burst does, you will need to** repeatedly spam** either her skill button or normal attack during the animation.
Talent Prioritization
Depending on how you are going to use your shiny new Dehya will change how you prioritize her talents.
-
Burgeon: Dehya's talents as a burgeon support do not NEED to be leveled, but if you are to level anything I would recommend leveling her elemental skill to simply increase the damage she outputs.
-
Burning: Similar to burgeon, Dehya doesn't need any talent prioritization however, to maximize damage I recommend leveling her elemental skill.
-
Reactions: Again, as a reaction support she won't need any levels but for damages sake, you can level the elemental skill.
-
Tank: Prioritize the elemental skill as you will absolutely be building HP on tank Dehya and the elemental skill can give some added damage.
-
Quickswap/Off-field DPS: Prioritize elemental skill and burst. Less priority in burst as you won't be using it incredibly often on a quickswap build.
-
On-field DPS: Prioritize Dehya's burst and ensure you level her elemental skill as well. When Dehya's stop punching your field will be your only source of decent damage.
*Note, for the majority of the time you will be largely ignoring her Normal Attack. Unless you want to build her physical, I won't stop you!
Leveling Dehya?
Dehya does partially scale off of HP, though poorly. If you want to level Dehya it is because you want to maximize her healthpool and no other reason. You might do this for the tank build. If you play her off field or reactions, ensure you have either a team-wide healer or a shielder for your team if you are anxious about Dehya's healthpool falling too low.
Weapon Choices!
What Artifacts Can She Use?!
What Artifact Stats Should I be Looking For?
Stats depend on Dehya's playstyle:
-
Burgeon: Run EM on everything. If you are worried about Dehya's secondary damage or her healthpool, get ATK or HP percent respectively.
-
Burning: Run EM on everything, again. Same rules as last bulletpoint.
-** Reactions**: Again, EM on everything. Same ruels as previous.
-
Tank: HP on everything you can get. More HP in her substats as well. If you also care about her damage, bring ATK substats or aim for good crit ratios.
-
Quickswap/Off-field DPS: ATK sands, Pyro DMG Bonus goblet, and preferably a Crit circlet. If you cannot manage a good Crit circlet go with ATK temporarily. Aim to get more ATK in your substats and good Crit ratios.
-
On-field DPS: ATK or ER sand depending on the stats (and weapon) you have, Pyro DMG Bonus goblet, and Crit circlet. Get more ATK and ER in the substats as well as Crit.
Constellations!
-
C1 - Increase Dehya's Max HP by 20% and increase the damage her skill does by 3.6% of her Max HP and the damage of her burst by 6% of her Max HP.
-
C2 - The duration of totems created from Dehya's elemental skill are increased by 4 seconds (effectively giving her near constant uptime) and when a team memeber inside the field is attacked it will increase the damage of the next totem coordinated attack by 50%.
-
C3 - Increases Burst level by 3.
-
C4 - When Dehya's burst attack hit opponents they will restore 1.5 energy for Dehya and heal her for 2.5% of her Max HP.
-
C5 - Increases elemental skill level by 3.
-
C6 - Crit Rate of elemental burst is increased by 10%. When the burst attacks crit, crit damage of the burst will be increased by 15% for the rest of the duration and the duration of the burst is extended by 0.5 seconds for a maximum of 2 seconds. Crit DMG can only be increased up to 60%.
A Closing Statement...
Dehya is a versatile character. While she may not be the most efficient I feel that she can be worthwhile if people gave her the light of day. Her kit may feel a tad bit janky and she may feel inefficient without constellation I feel that being a jack of all trades gives her a reason to be used. After all, a jack of all trades may be a master of none but its better than being a master of one. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy your shiny new Dehya!
