A COMPLETE Guide to Hysilens! | Best Builds, Relics, Teams - Honkai Star Rail (HSR 3.5)
Hysilens is a 5-star physical damage dealer following the Nihility path in Honkai: Star Rail. She is known as the Helektra, Daughter of the Sea, and serves as a D.O.T. specialist with excellent debuffing capabilities. Her base stats include 1203 H.P., 602 Attack, 485 Defense, and 102 Speed. Hysilens’ stat bonuses from traces include 28% attack, 9 speed and 10% effect hit rate. Hysilens’ Ultimate deploys a zone, reducing enemy attack by 15% and defense by 25%, while triggering additional physical D.O.T. when enemies take D.O.T. damage. Hysilens’ Talent applies Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, or Shock with each attack, prioritizing different states. Hysilens’ skill is an A.O.E. attack with a 100% base chance to increase damage taken by all enemies by 20%.
Hysilens’ Signature Light Cone is Why Does the Ocean Sing.
It increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 40%. When the wearer hits an enemy target with a Basic Attack, Skill, or Ultimate, they have an 80% base chance to inflict the Enthrallment state for 3 turns. Effects of the same type cannot stack. While in the Enthrallment state, each debuff applied by the wearer increases D.O.T. taken by 5%, stacking up to 6 times. When attacked by an ally target, increases the attacker's speed by 10% for 3 turns.
Hysilens’ Best Free-to-Play 5-Star Light Cone:
Solitary Healing increases break effect, and when the wearer uses their ultimate, it increases their D.O.T. damage for 2 turns. Also, where an enemy is defeated that was suffering from D.O.T. by the wearer, they regenerate energy.
Hysilens’ Best 4-Star Light Cones:
Hysilens benefits from light cones that enhance her D.O.T. capabilities and Effect Hit Rate. The optimal light cone choices would prioritize effect hit rate enhancement for consistent debuff application, attack scaling for her D.O.T. damage, and energy regeneration to maintain ultimate uptime.
Therefore, a free-to-play light cone for Hysilens is Before the Tutorial Mission Starts, which increases effect hit rate and regenerates energy.
A four-star gacha light cone that Hysilens can use is Eyes of the Prey. It increases effect hit rate and increases D.O.T.
Hysilens’ Best Relic Set:
A four-piece Prisoner in Deep Confinement is the most recommended relic set. Its 2-piece set effect increases attack by 12%. Its 4-piece set effect states that for every D.O.T. the enemy target is afflicted with, the wearer will ignore 6% of its defense when dealing damage to it, up to a maximum of 3 D.O.T.s.
Hysilens’ Alternative Relic Set:
A two-piece combination of Champion of Streetwise Boxing and Musketeer of Wild Wheat works for Hysilens. Champion’s 2-piece set effect increases physical damage by 10%, and Musketeer’s 2-piece set effect increases attack by 12%.
Hysilens’ Planetary Ornament Sets:
The two-piece Revelry by the Sea planar set is the best for Hysilens. It increases the wearer's attack by 12%. When the wearer's attack is higher than or equal to 2400 or 3600, it increases the D.O.T. damage dealt by 12% or 24%.
An alternate two-piece planar set that Hysilens can use is Firmament Frontline: Glamoth. It increases the wearer's attack by 12%. When the wearer's speed is equal to or higher than 135 or 160, the wearer deals 12% or 18% more damage.
Hysilens’ Best Relic Main Stats:
For the body piece, use an attack percent main stat. For the feet piece, use a speed main stat. For the planar sphere, use a physical damage main stat. For the link rope, use an energy regeneration rate main stat.
Hysilens’ Best Relic Substats:
First prioritize Effect Hit Rate until 120% or the cap, then prioritize speed up to 134, and lastly prioritize attack percent.
These substats optimize Hysilens's ability to consistently apply D.O.T. effects while maintaining adequate damage output and action frequency.
Hysilens’ Recommended Endgame Stats:
Aim for around 70% Effect Hit Rate in total. Aim for 134 speed. Aim for 3600 attack for the enhanced D.O.T. damage from Revelry by the Sea.
Hysilens’ Major Traces Priority:
First unlock Strings of Pearl; its effect is that for every 10% of Effect Hit Rate that exceeds 60%, damage increases by 15%, up to 90%. Second, unlock Banner of Conquest; its effect is that at the start of combat, it creates a zone with the same effect as her ultimate, lasting for 3 turns. Lastly, unlock Bubble of Grandeur; its effect is that when other allies perform attacks, Hysilens has a 100% base chance to inflict the enemy target with D.O.T. states.
Hysilens’ Ability Leveling Priority:
First, level up her Ultimate, Dance of Raging Tides and Devoured Souls, priority for zone deployment, and enhanced D.O.T. interactions. Second, level her talent, The Sea Siren Sings—Core D.O.T. application mechanic. Third level: her Skill Overtone Beyond Undercurrents—A.O.E. damage and vulnerability debuff. Lastly, level up her Basic ATK Ballad in Still Waters—lowest priority, mainly for Skill Point generation.
Hysilens’ Core Team Synergies:
D.O.T. Synergy Teams: Hysilens excels with other D.O.T. dealers who can trigger her Ultimate's additional damage effects. Her Zone amplifies any D.O.T. damage dealt within it.
Debuff Support Teams: Characters that can further reduce enemy resistances work well with her defense reduction capabilities.
SP Management: Since her skill costs 1 SP and Ultimate deployment benefits from Eidolon 1's SP recovery, pair with SP-positive supports.
Hysilens’ Team Role: Hysilens serves as a primary D.O.T. applicator and debuffer, providing consistent multi-type D.O.T. application through her talent and zone control with attack or defense reduction, damage amplification for D.O.T.-focused team compositions, and A.O.E. vulnerability debuffs to increase team damage
Her unique ability to apply multiple D.O.T. types, including Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, and Shock, makes her highly versatile in various team compositions, particularly those focused on sustained damage over time rather than burst damage.
Hysilens’ Teams:
Hysilens best team is herself, Kafka, Black Swan, and Ruan Mei. A sustainless team comp is difficult to play, but it is Hysilens best team since Kafka detonates D.O.T.s and Black Swan applies D.O.T.s while Ruan Mei increases the team’s damage with skill and ultimate. Other Harmony supports include Tribbie and Robin. Since Hysilens has the major trace Bubble of Grandeur that applies D.O.T. whenever an ally attacks, Tribbie seems to be the best option. Tribbie consistently attacks with her follow-up attacks, and you mostly want to be using her basic attacks during her turn. Robin provides a lot of attack boosts. If you want to use a sustain, use Huohuo because she provides energy with her ultimate. If you do not have Huohuo, then use Gallagher.
Another team that Hysilens may be a part of is herself, Acheron, Cipher, and Aventurine. Because of Bubble of Grandeur, Hysilens inflicts D.O.T.s when allies attack; hopefully this increases Acheron’s stacks to get her ultimate, otherwise Hysilens will not be playable with Acheron. Assuming Hysilens is playable with Acheron, then she would replace Jiaoqiu.
