Win Conditions
- Go for either long trades or short trades depending on your ability to reset the cooldown on your E. Continue until you are able to kill your opponent with the next combo.
- Katarina's prime time is when at least one opponent is within kill range - flank your opponents and catch them off-guard.
- Keep enemy ability and item cooldowns in mind in case you go all in and suddenly find yourself unable to get the reset to back out again.
Weak Against
- Jayce: Jayce has so much damage and poke that it pretty much makes it impossible for you to fight or trade. Ask for jungler help.
- Fizz: Fizz can be manageable but he is very annoying nonetheless. Consider getting Merc Treads.
- Cassiopeia: Cassio's Miasma is really hard to play against since it can stop us from jumping to our daggers.
Strong Against
- Veigar: We can easily go over his wall with our E and his early is not that strong so he can't punish us.
- Twisted Fate: Twisted Fate won't have the sufficient damage to do anything to us and we outtrade him all the time.
- Xerath: All you need to do is dodge his abilities with your E and you will have the upperhand. Remember that Xerath is all about skillshots.
Game Strategy
- Early Game: Your champion is very vulnerable in the early game, both to ranged and melee matchups, so look to play smart and only trade when you know you have the upperhand. Level 3 is a good early game power spike, but we need to wait for either level 6 or getting our items finished.
- Mid Game: Swap with your Bot when the first turret Bot is taken. You are going to play Bot now, so apply pressure and look to rotate when you get a chance. Kat is literally made for diving with the amount of dashes and damage she has, so don't hesistate diving.
- Late Game: Keep doing the same thing, you want to clean up the fight and initiate the moment you see someone being low on HP. Nothing changes for late game either, your main purpose is to be sneaky and catch people off guard.
