Win Conditions
- Do not use your E unless you are going for a kill or to set up a gank. It costs a lot of mana and is main source of escaping.
- Look to farm with your Q to gain stacks and increase your AP. Line up multiple minions for extra damage.
- Use your R on squishy targets to execute them at the start of the fight and make it 5v4.
Weak Against
- Aurelion Sol: Aurelion Sol's consistent, long-range damage allows him to harass Veigar from a distance, making it difficult for Veigar to farm and stack his Q.
- Xerath: Xerath outranges Veigar significantly and can poke him down from a distance with his Q and W.
- Kassadin: Kassadin's passive reduces magic damage taken, mitigating Veigar's burst damage. As Kassadin scales, he becomes a significant threat to Veigar, making it crucial for Veigar to shut him down early.
Strong Against
- Annie: Annie's short range and reliance on her burst combo make her vulnerable to Veigar's long-range poke and cage. Veigar can harass Annie from a distance and set up ganks with his stun.
- Akali: While Akali is mobile, her shroud W can be countered by Veigar's cage if well-timed. If Akali is caught inside the cage, she becomes an easy target for Veigar's full combo.
- Qiyana: Qiyana's all-ins and mobility are countered by Veigar's cage. If Veigar places his cage strategically, he can prevent Qiyana from engaging or disengaging effectively.
Game Strategy
- Early Game: In the early game, Veigar should focus on farming with his Q to stack his passive and poke enemies. Play defensively, using Dark Matter (W) to zone and Event Horizon (E) to stun and disengage from ganks. Prioritize last-hitting minions and landing Baleful Strikes on enemy champions to stack AP.
- Mid Game: During the mid game, Veigar's burst potential starts to shine. Push your lane and roam to other lanes or assist in skirmishes with your Event Horizon. Look for opportunities to catch enemies with your stun and burst them down with Primordial Burst (R). Continue stacking your Q by last-hitting minions and champions.
- Late Game: In the late game, Veigar becomes a powerful teamfighting mage. Use your Event Horizon to catch out-of-position enemies and provide zoning in team fights. Prioritize high-value targets with your abilities, especially your ultimate, to burst them down and turn fights in your favor.
