Matchups
- Weak Against: Soraka, Seraphine, Pantheon.
- Strong Against: Renata Glasc, Taric, Karma.
Victory Conditions
- Dominate the lane by constantly poking the enemy with your W and Q. Look to get as many stacks on your warding quest as quickly as possible.
- Delay a team fight at all costs until you’ve poked the enemy down quite a bit. Once they’re low enough, then look to team fight.
- Your R is a channel and leaves you vulnerable while its live. Use your R from a safe position to avoid dying.
All in all
- In the past Vel'Koz Support has almost always been played with Mage items but over the past few patches he's seeing incredible results with a different build. Instead of running Luden's as the rush item it's Shurelya's that is winning way more right now.
- Vel'Koz support players that rush Shurelya's are demolishing games, winning 3% more than those who run Luden's. Shurelya's is such a great pickup right now on a lot of these Mages that lack a gap closer.

Game Strategy
- Early Game: Vel'Koz should focus on poking enemies with his Q and applying passive stacks. Use E to peel for your ADC and disengage from unfavorable trades. Maintain bush control, poke enemies under their tower, and set up kills for your ADC by landing skill shots.
- Mid Game: During the mid game, Vel'Koz becomes a strong zone control and pick champion. Rotate with your team, using your Q to clear waves and poke enemies. Utilize your R to catch enemies out of position and secure picks.
- Late Game: In the late game, Vel'Koz excels at team fighting and peeling for his carries. Use your R to soften up enemies and zone them during team fights. Prioritize catching high-priority targets with your abilities, utilizing your Q and W to apply passive stacks and burst enemies down.
