At level 3, you can start reliably dueling most Junglers and gank effectively.
Starting at level 6, you should be actively looking for dives and picks.
Look to dive in teamfights 99% of the time. You very rarely look to peel unless you're either extremely weak or your ADC is extremely strong.

Rammus: Rammus's high armor and his ability to reflect damage with his W make it difficult for Vi to trade effectively. Rammus's taunt can also interrupt Vi's engagements.
Ivern: Ivern's ability to shield allies and root Vi with his E can neutralize Vi's engages.
Maokai: Maokai's tankiness and sustain make it challenging for Vi to burst him down. Maokai's Q can disrupt Vi's positioning, and his passive allows him to regenerate health during trades.

Mid Game: During the mid game, Vi becomes a strong initiator and skirmisher. Look for opportunities to catch enemies out of position with your ultimate, isolating high-priority targets for your team. Utilize your Q to initiate fights and your R to disrupt enemy formations, ensuring favorable team fights and objective control.
Late Game: In the late game, Vi transitions into a tanky initiator and backline disruptor. Engage fights with your ultimate, focusing on catching enemy carries or disrupting key targets with your Q and R combo. Properly timed ultimates and engages can decide late-game clashes, making Vi a crucial asset in securing victory for your team.
