Opening

Hey, I’m Neo, a professional support player in Pokémon UNITE. Over the past few seasons, I’ve made earnings as a competitive player, securing 3 tournament wins, placing Top 12 and Top 7 in UCS brackets, and building a reputation as a high-IQ macro-focused support main.

Your Role: Enabler, Strategist, Tempo-Setter

As a support player, your job isn’t just to heal or shield — it’s to control tempo, enable high-value plays, keep your carries alive, and punish poor positioning. A pro support doesn’t just react; you dictate the pace of the game and guide your team to macro victory. Remember, you're the team's eyes.

Types of Support

There's 3 main types of supports in unite. These Roles are Healer, Peel/Tank, and Pocket. Supports that fall under healer are: Blissey, Alcremie, Eldegoss, Clefable, Hoopa, Umbreon. For Peel/Tank Supports you have: Umbreon, Mr. Mime, Wigglytuff, Psyduck, and For Pocket You have: Blissey, Alcremie, and Comfey. There's Other Supports like Sableye but they dont fall under the 3 main roles of support.

Understanding Micro & Macro as a Support

Micro is all about your personal gameplay mechanics how well you can land your skillshots, time your healing or shielding, stick to your carry and peel, position in fights to survive and assist, cancel enemy engages or combo with allies. Macro is the bigger picture. It's about game sense and decision-making as a team. Rotating to objectives (like Regieleki or Rayquaza) before the enemy, Knowing when to fight or disengage based on timers and positioning, Staying with the right ally at the right time (like protecting your jungler during an invade) Managing vision and presence in key areas Helping your team regroup, stall, or force pressure when behind As a support, mastering both is crucial. Your micro keeps your teammates alive, but your macro wins the game by being in the right place, enabling plays, and preventing throws.

What It Really Means to Be a Support

Your job is to keep allies alive, disrupt enemies, provide vision, and tempo control (staying ahead of rotations and flow of the match). You play for the team, not yourself. That means: Giving farm to carries, escorting allies out of danger, staying alive more than diving recklessly, knowing when to let go of bad fights. Also note that being a support doesnt equal passsive. good supports are active and set the pace for their team

Other Tips!

Support players need map awareness. If you’re standing still, you’re already late. Know Your carry’s positioning and how you can quickly assist them. Know when objectives about to spawn. Enemies grouping (pre-position before they do)
