Snorlax ex Ho-Oh ex Archetype Analysis – Pokémon TCG Pocket (PTCGP) for Set {{setId}}

Learn about the best and worst archetypes in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Overview

Overview

A slow control deck that utilizes Snorlax as a tank and late-game damage dealer. It is supported by Ho-oh as an Energy generator for Snorlax or another Ho-oh, and by Darkrai for additional damage to secure knockouts for Snorlax. Retreating or returning Pokemon to hand is a common play to buy time until you can charge your Snorlax.

Primary Win Condition

Using only Darkness Energy, you aim to stall and build Energy on Ho-oh, which then accelerates Energy to Snorlax.

Guaranteed Consistency

High HP and strong damage across all Pokémon, enabling them to absorb hits while delivering significant damage later in the game.

Advantage

Excels against decks that cannot deal high damage quickly or require time to set up.

Game Plan

  1. 1
    Early Game

Stall with a tank early on, then retreat them using Leaf, Illima, or Lyra while building Energy on Ho-oh.

  2. 2
    Mid Game

Retreat your tank with Leaf (for Ho-oh or Darkrai) or Illima (for Snorlax). Attack with Ho-oh to accelerate Energy to Snorlax.

  3. 3
    Late Game

Snorlax will now have enough Energy to attack and take knockouts, with Darkrai providing additional damage support.
