With the addition of Pom-Pom Oricorio being able to block the damage of EX Pokemon, this gives Pikachu EX an additional advantage. We can replace some of the items or switch out the supporters for what suits your playstyle more. I enjoy the Dawn and being able to sneak a Pika EX attack directly from hand to board, but there's argument in replacing her with any other number of supporters.
Otherwise, this deck is pretty bread and butter and requires the pilot to just slow down and figure out the next move. We ideally open up with our Zebstrika and Oricorios and wear them down being unable to pierce through Oricorio's ability and clean up with Pikachu EX.
If you're not worried about being donked on your opponent's first turn, opening up with only Blitzle will hide key information about your deck. We WANT them to evolve into their EX's and if they don't see an Oricorio on the board- that will hopefully persuade them to do so.
The only decks to watch out for are your Rampardos decks. Other than that, you have a favorable match up against most of the meta. Most players have forgotten about A1 Zebstrika, so take advantage of their ignorance til the cards rotate.
Just remember, it's extremely important to keep Pikachu EX full HP if you can to avoid being bossed up by Cyrus and risking 2 points. I wouldn't even bench him until you see a guaranteed KO that he can take.
If we need to, we can pivot into Dedenne to slow down the opponent with a 50/50 Paralysis. If you're at this point in the game- good luck, man. If you don't want Dedenne, then you can probably add in more healing or tech in another card. He's your "oh shit" button though.
Sabrina is there for the final point. Hopefully by the end of the match, everything will be at 90HP or less or they will be out of any Pokemon to apply damage to Oricorio. That's your main win conditions.
At the end of the day, it's still a Pika/Zebstrika deck. It's a rewarding deck to play and is very consistent. A1 Pikachu EX is still just as good as when he was released, if not better due to all the new support Pokemon and trainers we've gotten access to.
Good luck on ladder.
