HOW TO PLAY GUZZLORD EX?
Guzzlord ex serves as one of the primary offensive powerhouses in the deck, known for its high-damage potential and disruptive attacks. It is strategically paired with Nihilego, whose "More Poison" Ability enhances its utility by applying extra Poison damage to the opponent’s Active Pokémon whenever it becomes Poisoned. This synergy allows the deck to apply consistent pressure and rack up damage over turns, even outside of direct attacks.
To enhance the deck's tactical flexibility, Celesteela is included. Its Ultra Thrusters Ability provides a crucial mobility tool, allowing players to switch their Ultra Beasts—like Guzzlord ex and Nihilego—in and out of the Active Spot without the usual restrictions. This not only enables better board positioning but also facilitates pivoting between attackers or retreating to safety when needed.
The inclusion of Poison Barb further complements Nihilego’s role. This Tool Card poisons the opposing Pokémon when they attack the Pokémon it’s attached to, ensuring more opportunities to activate Nihilego's Ability and compound damage over time. This continuous, passive damage can wear down bulkier threats or finish off previously injured opponents.
In the late game, Lusamine becomes a vital support card. By allowing you to retrieve crucial Supporters or Stadium cards from the discard pile, she indirectly helps reestablish board presence and resource availability. Notably, Lusamine can enable a comeback by helping to power up Guzzlord ex again through recovered cards that accelerate Energy attachment or maintain game momentum.
Together, these elements create a well-rounded strategy: Guzzlord ex delivers brute force, Nihilego applies consistent poison pressure, Celesteela enables maneuverability, and Lusamine provides resource recursion for sustained pressure into the late game.
