Dawn has become a key addition to this deck, enabling Charizard ex to launch its attacks one turn earlier if Moltres ex previously retreated using Leaf. It also provides an energy boost to Moltres ex, allowing it to fire off an early Heat Blast—especially useful when the opponent has a slow start.
With the introduction of Space-Time Smackdown, more decks have started incorporating Pokémon Communication. This card helps cycle an extra Moltres ex or an inconvenient Evolution stage, increasing the chances of drawing the right Pokémon to bring Charizard ex onto the field as quickly as possible.
