[14.4] Hidden comp Sentinel Kayle

2/24: Average comp after Kayle nerf, but still playable.

1/29: After testing just want to say this comp is playable. The fact is with 3 star, 55 extra AR + MR from Sentinel and a Gunblade she can't die, even a 10 KDA Akali from above picture. Feel free to positioning.

Hello guys I'm Khym

Kayle is finally playable in 14.2 so I would like to share what I know.

This guide has 2 sections, quick guide for who want to instantly play and deep dive for who want to know more.

Check out my profile for more detailed guides which don't scam your LP buy guiding spend lots of gold finding a specific headliner trait then lost the game if you can't find any.

For easy visualize, I'll put champion into group instead of positioning, if any thing need to be noticed I'll mention.

We play Kayle when we got ideal items for her

Freely play the with Kayle or Sentinel Garen headliner, your board capped at lv 9 (same as Ahri Sentinel)

Her skill is suitable with atk speed, for the best in slot:

Guinsoo + Gunblade + any AP items (another Guinsoo, Archangel, Rabadon > Morello, Red buff, Shojin > others)

With a good frontline we want to slam "long fight" items

He is already got AR and MR from Sentinel so better go with HP. Steadfast Heart synergized well with healing from his skill and Gunblade from Kayle.

Garen last item could be anything:

• Save choice: Titan, BT, 2nd Warmog
• Dragon Claw against Ahri, TF
• Bramble Vest against Jhin

Play the best board from shop reroll, best case if you got Superfan with Olaf, Yasuo or Corki headliner

Slow roll at lv 6 to find a good headliner, prefer Sentinel+ Garen for better frontline

With Sentinel+ Garen, slow roll your board, then all in to 3* at 4-1

If you got Kayle headliner and your frontline is good enough for a win streak until 4-1, stop rolling and make econ (DON'T SLOW ROLL even your have 50+ gold). Sell Kayle at monster round then all in for 3 star Kayle and Sentinel+ Garen at 4-1 or 4-2 (looking for a 3rd augment)

Normally I don't recommend anyone to find a specific headliner, but in this specific comp you looking for both 3* Kayle and Garen so keep rolling until get them all golden, it will be fine.

Only play Kayle headliner if your HP is high enough for a lv 9 (no 6 lose streak in early game) or +1 team size (from Tactician Crown or New Recruit aug). More details in deep dive section.

Keep K'Sante and Lillia on bench

2* Mordekaiser (with 15% dmg reduction from Pentakill) is more tanky than Blitz, give him support items on him: Sunfire, Redemtion

For long fight wound from any source is crucial, you don't want to fight with Disco then deal nearly no damage in the first 10 seconds.

With a great frontline they all benefit form any items given by Qiyana

Positioning (assume opponent carry stay in the right corner):

• Place Kayle in middle for aoe spead, Morde and Ekko for the same reason
• Place Qiyana in front of opponent main tank (normally in the middle)
• Viego near Garen to make sure he probably die after Garen

Any HP and long fight augment

For rolling augment I only recommend Team Building and Rolling for the Day I (silver), you can take gold aug for reroll but it will lose advantage in late game

Kayle headliner variance

At lv 9 remove a Pentakill/Edgelord for 6 Sentinel

14.4 update: Pentakill Kayle > Sentinel, keep in mind they are highly contested

To play with Pentakill your Morde must be 3 star for a good frontline, if this happend why don't play Morde as a carry? His headliner effect is looking for a win. In Chinese server many pros play him especially 60seconds.

Btw 3* Kayle and Garen are much easier.
