Intro

With the changes to Zaun this patch, it has become even easier to hit a 6 Zaun board that is near unbeatable. Of course, this requires you to hit a Zaun emblem, but in the games that you have one, you are almost always playing for Top4 and usually for First.

In this guide, I'll show you how to get a Zaun +1, what to do with it, and there's even a video at the bottom of one of the best players in the world piloting it.

How to Get Zaun +1

Since this comp requires Zaun +1, and ideally the Zaun Emblem, here are the best ways to get it.

  • MOST CONSISTENT: Play Urf legend and take Ancient Archives as your first augment. See the rules below for how many "Tailored" emblems you'll get based on your active traits. You always want to be at the lower end since you'll have the best odds relatively (6, 8, 10, or 12 traits in). Also note that Yordle and Multicaster do not have emblems, so you can add a unit like Teemo to greatly increase your odds of hitting
  • The new Hall of Nine region can drop Tome of Traits
  • Just take Zaun emblem from augments

Early Game

Zaun doesn't have the best early game, but you can save some HP playing around Jinx and whatever units you can upgrade. If you already have Zaun +1, then adding an Ekko to the board below gives you a great opener, and then you can slowly upgrade units. You can also play around Ionia (Irelia, Sett, Jhin) since Warwick fits so well into that board.

Best Zaun Mods

With 6 Zaun, here are the best Zaun Mods

S+++ Tier: Unstable Chemtech

A Tier: Virulent Bioware, Robotic Arm

B Tier: Adaptive Implant, Shimmer Injector

F Tier: Hextech Skeleton

Ideally you want Unstable Chemtech. With a Zaun emblem, placing this on a tank and adding 1 (or in best case 2) Warmogs armor will allow them to delete a huge amount of the enemy team. The best holder is Jarvan since he will jump into the largest clump and usually explode soon after.

Both Virulent Bioware and Robotic Arm are very strong on Zeri. Ideally you'd want at least one of these.

Adaptive Implant or Shimmer Injector can go on Urgot to make him tankier. So can Hextech Skeleton, but the Overcharged version of that mod is very underwhelming compared to the other ones.

Other Units to Consider

  • Sion if you need more frontline
  • Ryze- a lot of the versions are broken this patch. Sadly, Shadow Isles bringing back Jarvan doesn't make him explode again :(
  • Sej/Ashe/Liss if you can't get to Heimer. Double shred from Freljord or Heimer is very nice since the explosion damage is magic
  • Nasus/Shen for random tankiness
