Teamfight Tactics Introduces Ao Shin’s Ascent — A Limited-Time PvE Roguelite Mode
Riot Games has announced that Teamfight Tactics, its popular strategy spinoff of League of Legends, is set to receive a brand-new temporary PvE mode: Ao Shin’s Ascent, launching on September 24.
Traditionally a competitive PvP experience, TFT will for the first time introduce a progression-driven single-player challenge. In Ao Shin’s Ascent, players climb through escalating encounters and bosses while building permanent strength through a roguelite-inspired Journey Track.
What to Expect in Ao Shin’s Ascent
- Climb the Mountain: Strengthen your team with powerful Augments and prepare for a climactic boss battle.
- Shape Your Run: Choose your difficulty, select a Guide, and pick which boss to face—every climb offers unique challenges.
- Guides as Key Allies: Unlockable Guides provide special strategies and advantages. For instance, Zoe offers random loot, while exclusive options like Battle Queen Gwen grant access to powerful items from past TFT sets.
- Progress Regardless of Outcome: Every attempt pushes you further on the Journey Track, ensuring steady progression whether you win or lose.
- Unlock Rewards: Gather Guides through the free Journey Track, and clearing the summit with at least 12 Guides grants a special Ao Shin’s Ascent Portal reward.
Bundles and Rewards
- Ao Shin’s Ascent Guide Pack (575 RP): Includes an emote and the exclusive Guides Truth Dragon Yasuo and Battle Queen Gwen.
- Ao Shin’s Ascent Mega Bundle (2780 RP): Contains everything from the Guide Pack plus the Legendary Little Legend Awakened Ao Shin, the Little Legend Sol Harbinger Ao Shin, and the second K.O. Coliseum Pass Plus.

“Ao Shin’s Ascent represents everything we love about TFT — experimentation, strategy, and a dash of chaos — while adding a roguelite twist that challenges players to adapt and persevere. This is our most ambitious PvE experiment yet, and a major step toward giving players more ways to play and return for the next climb.”
Senior Game Designer Michael “Skip” Scipione added:
“We wanted to push TFT forward with bold new mechanics. Bosses evolve with shifting modifiers, and each run builds toward the next. Ao Shin’s Ascent expands TFT’s core gameplay while giving players new stories to create with every climb.”
Release Window
Teamfight Tactics: Ao Shin’s Ascent will launch on September 24 at 10 AM PT alongside Patch 15.5, and remain available until the end of Patch 15.6 on October 8.
