HOW TO PLAY

Cypher Trait Overview:

  • Intel Collection: Players collect Intel by losing rounds (more for consecutive losses) and, to a lesser extent, by defeating enemies. Intel is accumulated slowly but steadily throughout the game.
  • Intel Exchange: Gathered Intel can be exchanged for loot during specific rounds: 3-3, 3-7, 4-3, 4-7, or 5-5. These moments provide the opportunity to enhance your team’s power.
  • Cypher Unit Bonus: After exchanging Intel, Cypher units gain extra attack damage (AD) and ability power (AP), depending on how many Cypher units are active:
    • (3) 1x Intel, 25% AD & AP
    • (4) 1.5x Intel, 40% AD & AP
    • (5) 2x Intel, 50% AD & AP

Cypher Units:

  • Vi (1-cost) – Vanguard
  • LeBlanc (2-cost) – Strategist
  • Draven (3-cost) – Rapidfire
  • Galio (3-cost) – Bastion
  • Zed (4-cost) – Slayer

Strategies for Playing Cypher Trait:

  1. Early Game:

    • Activate 3 Cypher units (e.g., Vi, LeBlanc, Draven) and intentionally lose fights to gather Intel by intentionally losing rounds.
  2. Mid-Game:

    • Continue the losing strategy, building up your Cypher units to 4 or 5 for maximum Intel gains.
  3. Late Game:

    • In one of the chosen rounds (e.g., 4-7), exchange gathered Intel for loot.
    • Transition to a comp that focuses on 6 Bastion units with Zeri as the primary damage dealer in the backline.

Additional Tips:

  • Adjust Strategy Based on Opponents: If your opponents are not letting you lose, you can change your approach and aim to win specific rounds to maximize your Intel gathering.
  • Be Flexible with Loot: Consider the loot options during Intel exchange carefully, as this can significantly enhance your team for future rounds.
  • Late-Game Power Shift: As the game progresses, Cypher units become significantly more powerful. Shift focus to more impactful Cypher units (like Zed and Galio) when you’ve gathered sufficient Intel.

Final Thoughts:

Playing the Cypher trait effectively requires careful management of your losses early on and a strategic shift to powerfully boosted units in the late game. Collect Intel in the early and mid-game, and don’t be afraid to use the exchange rounds to strengthen your team’s power, ensuring you’re ready for late-game dominance.
