[CHALLENGER GUIDE] Smolder + Protector - Mega shield, mega damage!

This comp is interesting for it's heavy shielding and durability which conveniently makes each fight to drag on longer allowing Smolder (and Janna) to stack their respective damage and shielding.

It revolves around:

1. Smolder as your main damage carry
2. Janna for damage complementation and shield supporting
3. K'sante for heavy tank and durability (His passive is a game changer to provoque even longer tamfights which is what you want with this comp)

You SHOULD play this comp if you get a good opening or/and if the comp is uncontested.

You SHOULD NOT play this comp if it's contested because you will not be able to hit your 3-star carries which are mandatory for it to

A great opening would be having some of these units: Janna, Kennen, Malph, Rakan (Better yet if you get a Neeko or Smolder early).

Yes, in case, you dont feel like your board is strong enough for this lobby and you find yourself with a a couple of 5-cost carries, from this comp you can play a Zyra + Varus comp if you strugle to find your Janna 3 or your Smolder in your shop. See example below:

AUGMENTS:

If the match encounter isn't scuttle puddle or any high-tempo encounter, It's intereseting to invest on a econ augment on 2-1 or 3-2 so you can guarantee a good tempo on you rolldown and also on your level 7 slowroll.

Along with that you want to choose some good combat augments such as:

ELITE CHOICE:

JEWELED LOTUS - Spell crit for Smolder makes him a menacing threat for your opponents since it crits on cast and also on the burn, also dodges the necessity for Infinity Edge

GOOD CHOICES:

Any combat augment that increases the potencial do slice through frontlines such as CORROSION

Smolder has some great power snax options, but mainly you will prefer one of these:
