Disco is the best comp in early game thanks to healing, but weak in mid game, at lv 9 it's the strongest capped board (can play with Ziggs, Illaoi, Sona, Qiyana, Yorick). So the optimal way to play Disco for this specific patch: Only plan to play with a good opener (good headliner with suitable item + combat augment) then make a winstreak, save HP in mid game, find headliner at lv 8 then lv 9 capped board. Keep in might Ziggs is the most important unit, your placement depend on how fast you find him.

Disco is back in 14.3, I know there are many Disco guides out there but most of them are missing something that I want to point out.

Check out my profile for more detailed guides which don't scam your LP buy guiding spend lots of gold finding a specific headliner trait then lost the game if you can't find any.

For easy visualize, I'll put champion into group instead of positioning, if any thing need to be noticed I'll mention.

In 14.1 TF skill scale better with atk speed (throw 1 more card for every 20% atk speed bonus). Mathematically putting atk speed items will make 8% better output than other items

  1. Best of the best but isn't flexible: Guinsoo + Archangel + Gunblade

Disco healing can hold the fight long enough to stacking things. Gunblade is picky so slam this one last. This build cost you 3 rods so you may not be able to craft Ionic Spark for Shred

  1. Best overall: Shojin/Red Buff/Guinsoo + Nashor + any AP

Nashor work best with second atk speed/mana regen item. For example with 40% atk speed from Red Buff, 20% from 6 Disco, 10% from 1 Hyperpop (also 5 mana) and 50% from Nashor. It takes only 5.12s to restore TF full mana, perfectly fit 5s of Nashor effect (for Shojin it took only 4.5s!)

Shojin deal less dmg in late game, but its more flexible (can switch to Ahri, Karthus) and strong in early game.

  1. Save to slam:

Shojin + Morello + other AP (Nashor > Archangel, Rabadon, Guardbreaker > Guinsoo, Gunblade)

TF skill spead dmg to a bunch of enemies, Dazzler also keep dealing for 2s -> Morello, Red Buff are decent.

Early game

First of all, Disco is either vertical or non-vertical comp. You start with 3 Disco, save HP then hit lv 8 and successfully find a TF/Blitcranks headliner, its vertical. On the other hand you play with any AP opener (Annie with superfan), save 1 Nami on bench, hit lv 8 rolling for Pentakill Karthus but accidentally got TF first, you sell your board then find Disco, Dazzler and Spellweaver units, its non-vertical! Don't be suprise this is a casual thing in set 10 because you never know which headliner you will got, every pro in tournament play like this.

"To have an opportunity" to play Disco, start with any AP carry opener: Annie, Nami, Seraphine

Fast 8 gameplan: Play the best board from free shop reroll, roll a bit to stablilize if your board is bad, then hit lv 8 find a new headliner and build your team around them.

There are some broken openers that I don't want you to miss when hit the right headliner, which lead to an easy win streak free HP to lv 8.

Late game

Hit lv 8 at 4-2 if you are rich (winstreak, exp/gold augment)

Or 4-4, save around 25-30 gold after hit lv 8 and find a new 4 cost headliner

Build your team around that headliner

Unless you got 2* Yorick with suitable items, Taric with 6 Disco can't be better than 3 Spellweaver and 2 Sentinel. Playing Taric over 5 cost is the most common mistake when playing Disco.

Thanks to Hyperpop buff in 14.1, 2 star Lulu is actually better than 1 star Sona
