How to Play Sniper — TFT Set 15: K.O. Coliseum

How TFT Sniper Works
Sniper Trait Bonus
Snipers gain Damage Amp, increased against targets farther away.
- (2) 13% DA; +3% DA per hex
- (3) 16% DA; +5% DA per hex
- (4) 22% DA; +7% DA per hex
- (5) 25% DA; +10% DA per hex
Snipers are rewarded for staying back and firing from a distance. The further you can remain, the more damage they are able to deal. The added offense should be well worth the two-piece, but be careful not to go too deep, or else you’ll lack the frontline to keep your Snipers safe.
Sniper Synergy
Here’s a rundown of the traits you can branch into from Sniper:
- Gnar – Luchador
- Sivir – The Crew
- Jhin – Wraith
- Caitlyn – Battle Academia
- Jinx – Star Guardian
- Varus – Wraith
Jhin and Varus share the Wraith synergy, making them an obvious pair if you’re going vertical into the trait. Aside from that, there aren’t any other direct synergies.
TFT Sniper Champions
Gnar Luchador Sniper 1g
Gnar has the unique (but thematically fitting) combo of Luchador + Sniper. This allows him to strike from a distance until leaping into the fight to ravage his foes. As a 1-cost unit he enables both of these traits very early, making him a pretty solid unit to pick up.
Sivir The Crew Sniper 1g
Sivir’s Star Cutter ability launches a returning blade through her target, dealing physical damage to enemies hit. She’s a pretty simple backline carry, but her two traits pair nicely together for the combined Attack Speed and Damage Amp.
Jhin Wraith Sniper 2g
Jhin is a pretty basic backliner, but does have the unique ability to convert some of his Attack Speed into damage, while also dealing even more every fourth attack. Wraith + Sniper is actually a pretty good combination, as the extra Sniper damage can help heal frontline Wraiths, allowing Jhin to stay back safely.
Caitlyn Battle Academia Sniper 3g
Caitlyn’s Magic Bouncing Bullet specifically fires towards the farthest enemy, dealing physical damage to the first target hit, then bouncing to hurt another foe nearby. Assuming units don’t get in the way, this ensures she’ll get the most Damage Amp out of her Sniper trait, making her a reliable backline carry.
Jinx Star Guardian Sniper 4g
Jinx passively stacks Attack Speed with every attack, allowing her to deal a ton of damage, especially if she remains at a distance. Her unique Star Guardian bonus also provides additional (decaying) Attack Speed on takedowns, ramping her up even more. Once charged up, her Star Rocket Blast Off does huge damage to her target and nearby foes. If you can keep Jinx alive long enough, she’ll quickly get out of hand and become a monster on the battlefield.
Varus Wraith Sniper 5g
Varus gains Mana whenever units die, including both friend or foe (more from enemies). Once he fires, his Level Zero: 100 Shot Demon unleashes a barrage of piercing arrows at random enemies until Varus runs out of mana. The amount of arrows fired scales based on Attack Speed, so if built accordingly he’ll totally fill up the screen.
