How to Play Star Guardian — TFT Set 15: K.O. Coliseum
Star Guardians come together to grant the whole team unique bonuses. We have seen similar traits like this such as Divinicorp and Guild. However, these style traits are often a favorite of players as they are easy to splash and dip different traits in that benefit your team. They make the early game more interesting as well as the late game more interesting. Check out the trait bonus to see what each Star Guardian brings to the table.

Star Guardian Synergy
Here are the additional traits of the Star Guardian champions that give the opportunity to create trait webs:

- Xayah (2G) – Edgelord
- Ahri (3G) – Sorcerer
- Neeko (3G) – Protector

- Poppy (4G) – Heavyweight
- Seraphine (5G) – Prodigy
The Star Guardian Trait
Star Guardian like traits have been seen in Teamfight Factics before where they are easy to splash in throughout the game. However, there is a new twist with the prismatic trait objective of spending 20,000 mana in order to activate the trait to a prismatic rather than a gold. This is an incredibly powerful effect that gives this trait a chase trait.
The traits have a lot of options to weave as Bastion gives options to put Braum on the board who will offer plenty of crowd control. Seraphine and Syndra also both have Prodigy so there is a potential of potentially dipping into more Prodigy champions.
TFT Star Guardian Champions
Rell (1G) – Bastion
Rell is a cost with the ability to deal (AP) magic damage in a short time through a target, then reduce damage taken by (AP) for 4 seconds. She also gives the team shield through Star Guardian which is super strong, and I would expect it to scale well.
Syndra (1G) – Crystal Gambit & Prodigy
Syndra deals (AP) magic damage to the target and reduces their magic resistance by 10 with her ability Bright Star Blast. Her magic resistance reduction should be helpful in the early game and makes her feel less bad to play in the late game if you are playing around an AP carry. Her biggest importance is her Star Guardian trait giving her AP every 3 seconds making her a pseudo weaker item for the team.
Xayah (2G) – Edgelord
Xayah is a Star Guardian who I expect to be used in Edgelords often due to her Star Guardian trait giving every third attack additional damage which is incredibly strong especially in attack speed based compositions. Her ability Sharp Feather Shin allows her to gain (AP) attack speed for 3 attacks. These attacks deal (AD) bonus physical damage to the target and 2 nearby enemies.
Ahri (3G) – Sorcerer
Ahri has the ability Pure Heart Breaker which deals (AP) magic damage to the current target increased up to a based on the target’s missing health. If the target dies, deal a percent of overkill damage split between the 2 closest enemies, plus (AP) magic damage per target. Her Star Guardian tag also gives her team after casting mana over two seconds. This is something that while in the early game might not do a lot, in the late game will likely make all the difference in the world making Ahri a premium unit in Sorcerer compositions.
Neeko (3G) – Protector
Neeko is a 3 cost Protector making her a good defensive option in Star Guardian. Her tag also gives her health and shielding which will help a lot in protecting the Star Guardians. Neeko’s ability Falling FLower Eruption allows her to gain durability and heal (AP) over 2 seconds then deal (AP) magic damage to enemies in a 2-hex radius. This makes her strong to be near multiple enemy units likely in the middle of the board.
Jinx (4G) – Sniper
Jinx is a sniper with the ability Star Rocket Blast Off! Where she has the passive where she attacks she grants (AP) stacking attack speed. Critical strikes instead grant additional attack speed (AP). With her active, she deals (AD) physical damage to the target and (AD) physical damage split across 2-hex radius centered on the target. This is further enhanced by her Star Guardian tag which she gains additional attack speed and bonus attack speed after takedowns.
Jinx sounds like she will be menace – as she should be.
Poppy (4G) – Heavyweight
Poppy is a melee carry with her Spinning Galaxy Hammer ability where she gains (AP) shield for 4 seconds. When it breaks, she deals (Health & AD) physcial damage to the target and (Health & AD) physical damage to other enemies in a 1-hex radius centered on the target. The target is stunned for some time based on how long the shield held and other enemies are briefly stunned. Crowd control on units helps late game capping very hard, so with Poppy’s Star Guardian tag giving her health percentage and healing value she should make her way onto some boards and of course would be a stable on any Heavyweight boards.
Seraphine (5G) – Prodigy
Seraphine’s ability Ultimate Friendship Bomb has a passive where the damage scales on the Power of Friendship which is based on all your team’s bonus stats. Stats on Seraphine contribute more. With her active she fires a friendship bomb towards the largest group of enemies within a number of hexes dealing Power of Friendship magic damage in a 2-hex radius.
I really like this take on Seraphine, this makes Star Guardian a viable vertical trait with a huge pay off with Seraphine which is quite cool! On top of this, other units in Star Guardian made it well made to play an AP comp around it and Seraphine really capitalizes on this.
