The Most Broken Legend in the Game

Caitlyn is a somewhat underplayed legend right now . A few people use her, but the majority of players are sticking to Ornn, Aurelion Sol, or Poro. What these people don't realize is that Caitlyn has one of the strongest Gold augments in the game (Stars are Born) at 2-1. When taken and played correctly, this augment dramatically increases your Top 4 rate and winrate.

Stars are Born gives you 2 incredibly strong things:

• A guaranteed strong opener, which can ideally lead to a 5 win streak stage 2, but in the worst case will still save you a ton of HP early game
• An econ advantage, since the augment is worth 12 gold (6 Gold + 4g from the 2cost + 2g from the 1cost)

Compare this to something like Rich Get Richer, which also gives you 12 gold, but leaves your board infinitely weaker, and you can see why the augment is so strong.

Always prelevel before 2-1 (spend 4xp so that you naturally level to 4 on 2-1). This allows you to see more 2 cost options in your shop for Stars are Born. Next, look at your direction based on items. A 2* 2 cost itemized will make it much more likely for you to winstreak. In general, you want to be looking for 2 cost tanks and 1 cost carries, since the tanks at 2 cost are very strong.

Exceptional units at 2 cost:

• Swain
• Sett
• Warwick
• Kassadin
• Vi

Exceptional units at 1 cost

• Malzahar
• Cassiopeia
• Samira
• Jhin
• Irelia

You don't have to only take these units, but they are by far the best options. Don't buy Zed please.

Use your upgraded board to steamroll the lobby while aggressively making econ. Since your board is already upgraded, you likely won't have to roll at all stage 3, so you can just focus on making econ and leveling early to continue to push streak. An ideal winstreak game's level pattern looks something like:

Level 4 (2-1) Level 5 (2-5) Level 6 (3-1) Level 7 (3-5) Level 8 (4-2)

If you can afford this level pattern due to winstreak and making gold, you can then roll at level 8 with 30-40g and build a very strong board compared to the rest of the lobby. Any capped level 8 board works, currently the meta is either Sorcerers, Aphelios carry, or Zeri carry. If you highroll 5costs like Belveth and Ahri, you can also play around them as carries.

Most people get scared because they think this legend is only good from winstreak. But remember, Caitlyn also gives you an insane econ advantage. If you lose a few fights, don't worry, just make gold aggresively and push levels when you can. Ideally you won't roll much on 7, but some games you have to in order to stabilize your board, that's fine.

are not very good. Her other 2-1 augments are okay. Starter Kit is a fallback prismatic if your other prismatics suck, and please don't take Starter Kit in the region where every augment is prismatic, you will simply get outcapped by the rest of the lobby.

One Twos Three is fine as well. The early 3 cost can give you direction (Akshan, Darius/Kat, Vel'koz/Taric, Karma all give you a great first step toward their respective comps).

ALMOST NEVER take Knowledge Download, augment is just not worth the augment slot.

RARELY take Rolling For Days, but there are positions where it's strong, like if you are going fast 8 and need the extra rolls and you other augments are bad.
